Bed Head Curls-in-Check 1875W Hair Diffuser Dryer

I love this blow dryer for its ease and lightweight. Perfect for diffusing my curls. And the price; what can I say? It beats paying hundreds of dollars for the same results. I’m a senior so I’ve worked with many different blow dryers. This will be my go to for my curly hair. Of course I wouldn’t recommend it for straightening your hair.

I am a practical person...this is a practical review. Anyone who says this is a poor product, apparently, or at least in my opinion, is a novice or never learned how to dry curly hair properly. The setting choices are appropriate and the amount of power/forced heat is great. My hair never got sucked into the back of the dryer (how does that even happen if your are using the curly method?) When drying curly hair there should be the least amount of contact with the hair save the actual hot air. Also the diffuser is supposed to be close, those claiming frizz, seriously does not know how to dry curly hair. I have 3c hair which naturally contains a high amount of frizz and this dryer eliminates the issue, of course with the help of product. My curls (shoulder length when pulled straight) come out healthy and shiny and I get mad compliments. It's the perfect dryer for cold weather (Chicago) when it is impossible to go outside with wet hair and in the hot and humid, it dries the hair w/frizz control product perfectly so you don't have to worry about frizz creeping up on you once you leave the house. Would absolutely recommend the product. Yes it is bulky, so what, it gets the job done quickly. No, it does not tuck into a small corner of your suitcase, but then again neither do my stilettos and I still manage to pack them. The handle and weight is fine with me. Yes it is loud, so what, it gets the job done quickly. It is not a Mercedes 7 series, it's a hair dryer. It has never shut off on me and I use the high settings for the most part because of the thickness of my hair. Cord length is fine. I don't need to walk 3 yards away from the outlet to get to my bathroom mirror and sink. Seriously the cord length complaints are bogus.

I've been following "the curly girl method" for 18 years but wasn't well educated in my actual hair needs (i.e. porosity, etc) and my hair had severe damage from deciding to color for several years and overall neglect. So my hair is currently in transition from severe damage to a reset cut and now my curls are coming back. I am no longer a strict CGM and do lots of things differently now. (Shout out to shampoo!) This diffuser has been amazing. If I let air dry, I cant get more than 2 days out of my hair before I want to put it up (wearing it up for years was part of the damage tbh so im trying to break the habit and just pin back the front when need be) but when I use my diffuser, I can get 3-5 days with just a light refresh. My curls are coming back and I love the fact that it doesn't take very long to diffuse. It takes me 15-20 minutes by using the "Manes by Mel" method (look it up on YouTube!) By doing a hover dry and flipping my hair side to side to promote volume. (I scrunch out moisture with a satin scarf or microfiber towel and air dry or plop at least 30 minutes. I also usually scrunch in an oil while drying to fix any wonky curls) Downsides- i wish that it had more of a "bowl" like other diffusers. If I try to do a pixie diffuse, the ends of my curls can get super wonky so thats why I stick with the hover and flip method. The back of the dryer can suck in stray hairs, so be cautious for that! For the price, its a good deal. I got it on sale for less than $25. I do plan to invest in a good bowl style diffuser at some point but for now this is a great dryer for my needs. I bought this in 2022 and it’s still serving me well. I don’t use it daily but I definitely use it weekly. So that’s amazing value right there. Before this I struggled with diffusers and I sometimes wonder if I should go that route again but then realize it was so cheap and does a great job. It never pops off. Why would I need something else? It’s really light weight too. I highly recommend this if you just wear your hair curly.

After owning for a year, it did start to do what other reviewers said it did and turned red hot-right after turning it on and had a burning smell coming from it. I would turn it off immediately after that and not use it for a week or so but I definitely think if I left it on even for a few minutes that it would have caught fire. My worst fear is my hair catching on fire or using a tool that took off whole chunk of my hair off!! I did not have the money to buy a new hair dryer, so I went to use it again and it did not do that. After a few months it started to do it again and more frequently. It also wouldn’t blow much air out the first few minutes of turning it on sometimes. The metal that turns red hot underneath the plastic is very exposed. Which means that if my hair touched it for long enough, it would get burnt off. However, I would 100% recommend this if it wasn’t a risk to use when it does those things. It has 1 cool setting and 2 hot settings. Low, medium and high options. It reduced frizz completely and gave my hair volume while keeping my curls totally alive. I cannot recommend this completely. It’s a 50/50. I think it would be safe to use for a year but if it turns red and has the burnt smell, I would not recommend using it again.

I have really curly hair (3B, I think?). I'm Caucasian and have always worn it curly because I live in the south--straightening is pointless down here. I also have thin hair...to look at it, you would say no, but it's just the frizz that creates the illusion of thick hair. I'm a product junkie and after 39 years, I can honestly say that a good hairdryer is as important as a good product when it comes to curly hair. I had a Chi hairdryer that I had forever and loved. It died, so I went to Sally's and bought a decent ($50) hairdryer in a rush. I hated it. It's a great dryer for straight-haired people but the diffuser would NEVER stay on, so it was pretty much useless to me. Years ago, I found a diffuser style dryer in my aunt's old bathroom at my grandmother's house. It was literally an antique but I never knew anything ever existed!? I loved it and used it until it blew up. Literally. So fast forward now...for the sake of my blood pressure, I decided to look for one and voila! For the money (half of what I paid for the POS that couldn't hold a diffuser), I figured it wouldn't be worth anything but it might last long enough to save my sanity or until I ran across a deal on another Chi. I'm kicking myself for not ordering this when the Chi kicked the bucket. I use the same products on my hair but you would think I'm using something different but it's just the dryer that's changed. It has decreased the frizz immensely!! I use it with the green attachment and I find that it helps me get some lift at my roots/crown without ruining my curls and creating frizz instead. The cold shot is great and works just as it should. I'm big on reviews and it only had 3.5-4 stars when I bought it, but I honestly don't see how it's not a 5. I love this little dude.

Welp, I purchased yet another hairdryer. Delivered 3/8. I have literally used this thing no more than 10x’s. It appears it’s about to catch fire. This is the best hairdryer for curly/wavy hair, but man, it’s a piece. I wrote the original review below, but I’m changing it. I bought the first hair dryer in 2017. This year, I noticed it was taking forever to dry my hair so I replaced it. I shouldn’t have had to replace the hair dryer after only 2yrs. For some reason, I didn’t throw the original away. I bought the 2nd hairdryer in June 2019. Disappointingly, the replacement didn’t work any better than the original. While traveling for work, the new hair dryer broke the first week of Nov 2019. Made a horrible noise like metal was flying around in the motor. Was scared metal was going to fly out of it, so I trashed it. Because I am lazy and cheap, went back to the original which was 2.5yrs old at this point. Noticed the warm heat and low power setting weren’t working well. Today, Dec 2019, the dryer smelled funny and the low power setting quit working. Looked at it, the heating coil was bright red and smoking. Was scared it was going to catch fire. Unplugged it. Tried using again, and the hot heat setting and high power worked fine(ish). As soon as I switched power to low, the coil would turn bright red and start smoking. Hands down the best hairdryer I’ve ever had for my curly hair. I bought it 2yrs ago and it officially died today, however, I noticed it’s been dying a slow painful death.... Apparently hairdryers are supposed to last 5-7yrs, so this one falls short, but for the price, can you really go wrong? How many times can I replace this one for the cost of a Dyson? I will be ordering a replacement today!

This is the only diffuser dryer I've ever tried but it kicks the butt of any regular hair dryer with diffuser attachment I've used. Between the flat shape of the main unit and the short "fingers" I have an easier time drying my hair just from a physical aspect. I don't have to hold the dryer a mile away from my head! Also the frizz control is excellent, I dry my hair upside down and only on medium heat low air flow. But for someone with fine to medium curly hair (2c/3a) that is super prone to frizz the Curlipops is awesome. Update (Oct '17): I like to tell people this is the best $30 I ever spent. Still works great using it pretty much every day, and yes I can even use it on high on my fine to medium frizz prone hair. My hair forms into coils and ringlets when I use this diffuser, as opposed to letting my hair dry on its own and the wet curls just stretching themselves out, producing meh results. Also I have used this dryer with both short and long hair. If your hair is getting caught in the unit you are not using it correctly, and that is not the fault of the dryer! Update April 2019: Still going strong and still love this dryer, I travel with it as well, it's that much of a necessity. Hopefully it will still last me a good while but I plan on buying another one when it bites the dust. Never discontinue this please! Update July 2025: This thing is as reliable as my 06 Camry, it cannot be stopped. It will outlast us all. Lol

My wife says: I've used dryers with bulky diffuser attachments for over a decade, and never really been happy with them. Enter this Bedhead dryer with an absurd name. It's so well-balanced and the weight is so nicely distributed that I can fully dry my hair before my arms get tired. I have taken the dryer on two trips so far, and travelling with it is super easy. It's a tad noisier than my other dryers, if you're fussy about that sort of thing, but is just so much easier to use. Dense shoulder-length curly layered hair.

Excelente secadora !! La relación calidad-precio 10/10. El flujo de aire y la regulación de temperatura es bueno. No deshidrata el cabello rizado y el difusor es excelente. Esta secadora la adquirí para viaje, en casa tengo tengo una Dyson y los resultados son similares.

Maravilhoso, perfeito, o melhor que já usei, prático, leve, compacto. Foi caro, mas não sei como pude ficar até hoje sem ele. Ele é o secador e o difusor juntos, não precisa se preocupar com nada é só ligar e secar o cabelo. o cabelo fica perfeito e sem frizz. Sensacional, pena que não vende no Brasil.

Perfeito! Compre sem medo! Tenho cabelo cacheado com comprimento curto, DETESTO secar com difusor, acho um peso, um trambolho e não me acerto, tinha o difusor DEVA, mas não ficava bom. Enfim, com esse acertei na primeira (embora precise treinar mais). Chegou bem rápido no Brasil. Estou com preguiça de escrever, então assista o vídeo. O produto é bem leve (comparado aos secadores tradicionais), ele tem uma placa de metal interna que distribui a ventilação bem uniformemente, tem ar frio, morno e quente, o quente não é daqueles que queima o cabelo, iniciei a finalização com ar frio, depois morno aí perdi a paciência e fui para o quente, mesmo assim deu certo, achei o barulho ok, não é silencioso, mas também não é estrondoso. Tem a tomada diferente (com botões de segurança para acionar antes do uso), usei adaptador, porque a tomada é padrão americano. Mesmo no ar quente, o aparelho não super aqueceu nas partes plásticas, a tomada também se manteve fria (já derreti algumas tomadas com secador). O comprimento do cabo é médio. A voltagem é 125V (mais especificações no manual).

I got this a few weeks ago and I'm amazed at how fast it dries my hair - way, way faster than a traditional hair dryer. I had a similar product by Conair back in the 80s and 90s and loved it, and this one is even better. Very easy to use, and I don't find it too loud or noisy like other reviewers have said. You do have to be careful with long hair that it doesn't get caught in the back and sucked in, but other than that it's an awesome diffuser!
