Black 5 port model - DC5.5x2.1 Barrel Power Input 5v/500ma, not micro USB
Reviewing the 5 port 10/100 model in black:Got this for a small project. The description leads you to believe that it is easily powered via USB (mentions power banks and whatnot). Although it looks like a different/older model has a direct microUSB input, this one actually has a DC5.5x2.1 barrel input. It comes with a standard wall power brick (500ma at 5v) with permanently cabled plug. If you want to power it via USB, you need a USB->DC5.5x2.1 adapter or similar cable. So, back to amazon I go to buy the right cables with my project delayed. If only they included a power brick with usb out, and a usb-dc5.5 cable to power it...sigh. Knocked it from 5 stars to 2 for the misleading description. If I had known that it was just a normal DC barrel input at 5v, I definitely would have picked a slightly nicer switch with the same input.Other notes: Links come up on all ports. I didn't test switching throughput, but I assume it can do 100mbit. Only 4 of the contact pins in each port are actually there (pins 1,2,3,6), which is all that is needed for 100mbit. I assume this is done to cut costs or maybe to prevent an errant PoE device from frying the switch. There are no mounting slots on the bottom of the switch or antislip pads included. Pretty sure the box it came in weighs more than the switch.Box contents:1x 5 Port switch1x Power adapter - Nema 5-15P to DC5.5x2.1 - Switching input to 5v 500ma out approx 1M lead1x Useless manual - Poorly translated and written to support multiple switch models with widely varying capabilities

Great if you need to power from USB
I had to install a switch in a box that didn't have an extra power port, but had a computer with a spare USB port. This switch does the job, it's only 10/100, but that's all I needed. It's been running for almost a year with no issues.

Very handy for game consoles
Spacewise, I can only run one cable from my router over to my TV, and there's no more power outlets free for a "regular" switch, so I got this, plugged it into my Xbox One, and now connect it and PS4 to this switch (and the Xbox standby mode still powers the switch, which is nice). This isn't a Gigabit switch, so using it for anything heavier-duty isn't going to work out for you, but again, for occasional uses like consoles, it does the job well and affordably.

all the while being contained nicely in the 6-layer case
I purchased this specifically due to its 1. size and 2. micro usb power connection. The purpose of this unit was to sit in a 6-layer acrylic case along with a 5-port USB charger and 4 raspberry pi's. This way the charger could supply power to all the PI's as well as the switch, all the while being contained nicely in the 6-layer case. The 4-PI unit has only two cables running to it, one power and one ethernet. Since the PI's are limited to 100Mbps so this switch seemed to fit the need. And it has... I have been running this setup for a few months now and it has had zero issues.

Perfect for a Raspberry Pi/Single Board Computer Cluster
I purchased this to start networking a bunch of Libre Computer Le Potato single board computers together. It's powered off of a microUSB cable, plugged into an Anker 6 port USB 60w Adapter. Currently I have a Le Potato and a Raspberry Pi plugged in and everything is working well. I'm wishing now I'd have purchased the 8 port to attach more devices. The switch is super tiny. It's smaller than a Raspberry Pi, but it works perfectly for what I needed.
