Ideal for very elderly.
I ordered this on behalf of my wife for her 87 year old mother, who is partially sighted and hard of hearing. Both my wife and her mother are pleased with the phone. It has large buttons and a decent size screen which makes it easy for my mother-in-law to use. It has two speed dial functions, again easy to use. If the buttons are used to dial a number, a voice says each number to confirm the correct key has been pressed. It has an SOS button and when this is pressed it sends a text and calls numbers the user has preset until someone answers. It’s unusual to find a flip-up phone these days and the advantage, in my mother-in-law’s case, is it feels like using a landline hand set.The phone is 2G and accepts any standard size SIM card and the signal reception for the provider we chose is very good. No internet connectivity is available.Voice volume and listening volume is very good.Ringing tones and notification tones are basic and limited but this can be a good thing when you think the target user is a person with limited cognitive and technical ability.Build quality is ok, but everything is is plastic so I suspect it won’t take any abuse. For this reason i have told mother-in-law to always keep the phone in its docking station.Be advised that the supplied items include a USB charging cable BUT NOT a USB charging plug. Luckily I had a spare to hand.

High Quality 4g Flip phone
This high quality 4g Flip mobile phone feels ergonomicly great in the hand and is very light the call clarity is excellent and loud as is the ringtone volume with 9 increments.what impressed me most was the option to use your own ringtones notifications and even alarm tones even though the device has its own good selection of ringtones and notification tones including a novel iPhone tune. Probably the best quality and value flip available.

Rubbish
I've been looking for a big button phone for a while now and decided to choose this because it was cheap. To be clear it is the Artphone Simple Extre Senior 1 I am reviewing and not any of the other ones that have been lumped in with the reviews by Amazon, a problem they really need to sort out asvit is misleading. Buttons are big, and that is about as good as it gets. I dont have a smart phone so I am comparing this to other simple 'boomer phones', as my son calls them, not that im a boomer but apparently anyone over 30is so there you go. It is quite light and feels flimsy, considering my wee nokia is about 1/2 the size and feels heavier. Then there is the task of putting a sim in. I did eventually manage to get it in but it was so tight it broke the multi sim three type flimsy bit of plastic they use and I had to mess about a lot before it would recognise a sim was there, not the sim I put in but a vodaphone one so Ibassume the company I use must have some deal whith vodaphone. None of the information on the sim was transfered to the phone so that left me with no way of testing the phone as it didnt seem to want to let me make q call. Then I tried the sound settings for the media...loud and seemingly no way of easily reducing the volome that I could find but I assume there is avway that my aged brain cant fathom seeng as it works totally different to every phone Ive ever used. Instructions are minimal and useless. Cant reallt say muchvabout the battery life as after an hour of tryingvto get it to work I gave up and started a return process. It did charge quickly though, mind you I dont know how much of a charge was already on the phone. Now the sim I put in is playing up and the phone I swapped it from wouldn't recognise it either so that added to the fun. If you have an aged relative that you really cant stand then this would be the perfect gift as itll really get on their nerves trying to use it. However the assumptin being that you want an easy to use big button phone for somebody whose manual dexterity is waining, along with eyesight and hearing then look elsewhere as this isn't suitable for anything other than target practice. Pity because if it had been suitable I would have bought another for an older person who has trouble getting phones suitable for them, now I see why.

Works but durability questionable
A simple easy to use old school phone thats easy to use. My only concern is its durability. Yes you get what you pay for but i cant see this lasting before it breaks.

The phone is easy
The phone satisfies the description and is nice to hold and use, satisfying all the functions and use a senior would expect without the over complex frills of the more sophisticated Smart Phone. For those wanting a nice simple day to day communication with emergency option, this has it all.My only criticism is that of instructions where I feel a senior would be left floundering of How to open the phone to get the battery in and sim card also. This is not described in the manufacturere's brief booklet and is an obvious basic start. They would need a friend or relation with a PC to get this and start the basics.Amazon could assist here

Artfone easy to use great price.
It is easy to use.Larger numbers easy to see without my glasses.I had a red one as its bright and can easy find in the handbagAlso has a torch.I did not want a smart phone just one that when out I could ring for a taxi. Let people know I am running late or phone friends. Its uncomplicated to use.I have one and my dear old Mum was impressed so bought her one as well.

easy to use
this phone is very easy to use for elderly or disabled people there are one or two drawbacks the phone cannot be plugged into the mains for charging as it does not have a mains adapter you can however use a computer to charge it up the instructions are very limited and basic having said that the phone works well and is worth the money.
