So I suppose that all the additional lenses are good for others, but frankly they're lost on me. They have sunk to the back of one of my bench drawers that never gets opened. I put in the one that fit my needs the first time I used it, and well, it's stayed there. This what I reach for when I want general magnification.if I need to get up close I still reach for the loupe of the microscope. But I expected that. I just wanted a simpler solution to the 4X loupe. This is it. For things I need the 10X or greater loupe, well, I'm still using that. This replaces the 4x, but not the 10X.I do use the in-built lights sometimes, but frequently they create more glare than they illuminate the dark areas, so they're usually off.

This magnifier almost doesn't feel Chinese. It is better than what you'd expect. Everything feels quality. I read one review that the headband kept loosening. HA, that was not tool person and someone that never wore anything on their head. The knob pushes in to lock after tightening like many hardhat type items. Works great. My only complaint is the battery powered light. It will not work with good quality batteries. I cannot figure out what the issue is. When I put cheapy amazon batteries in it works great. Switch to Duracell and nothing. I checked every battery on a tester, looked at the contact points etc. I cannot figure it out. I was about to send it back when for some reason I switched to the cheapy batteries and it lit right up. NO idea why but other than that this is a real winner. 4 stars only for the battery issue.

I'm very glad I purchased this to help my vision problems due to cataracts.The first time I used this I got a rotten headache. I had assumed it was from the weight of the batteries and awkward fit and weight of the entire device.However, the next time I used it, I did a better job of everything including how to wear it and properly controlling the adjustable of headband device. Since then, I've never had any problems wearing it for several hours at a time.I really like the 3 LED brightness and the fact that there are two levels of brightness with the push of a button. I also like being able to change the direction up and down of the LED lightsI sometimes use the built in lens that I am able to raise and lower according to my needs. So far, I have not had to use the adjustable loop.Another favorite part of the 3 LED light part is that I can remove it and use it as a flashlight. The batteries are contained in this compartment.It's important to read the directions and not just guess at how to operate the headband.This is a very good and helpful optical/light product. I'm naturally near sighted and my vision is 30/20. However,, the cataracts make everything fuzzy, blurry, and dull. I need the light and the optic to see things clearly close uplike when treading a needle and other close up work.I highly recommend this product. In addition to the LED lights and adjustable headband, you can double up on lenses as well as where this device with your regular glasses.

This visor is really good. Better than I expected. But it does have a couple of issues. Cons: The batteries are a little tricky to install at first. The bottom one is a bit of a pain until you figure it out. If not seated perfectly, the lamp will turns itself on and stay on. The lid was very hard to remove with batteries loaded but once I removed and reinstalled the batteries, the led seems to be operating normally now. The other issue is unbalanced weight. It’s front heavy due to the LED pack. That needs to be lighter. I am a lady with a small neck (this is my husband’s account). When I reach a certain point looking down, the front heavy visor (led pack) requires more effort to keep my head from tipping all the way down. I can see it causing neck strain when wearing it for more than a few minutes. Pros: It’s head size adjustment system makes for a perfect fit. It has a soft, thick forehead pad. It’s very comfortable and easy to fit perfectly. The visor can be raised or lower with precision. You can use one or two lens at the same time and angle them forward or back. The retractable jeweler’s loop is a nice touch. And the light can be adjusted on two brightness levels, angled upward or straight ahead, and the lamp can be angled left, straight, or right. All in all I love the versatility of this device. Just wish the led pack was lighter. If the lamp issue reappears I will update my review.
