Amazing hardware, crap software, with a real cringe factor...
This is a Cadillac phone for sure... Too bad the interior is all basic Honda Civic quality. For one the honor apps keep forcing themselves to be default when you don't want them to. This gives the vibe that the phone still has its spyware and malware roots from the days of Huawei. I was already uneasy about this when I got it but because it was the global version and uses Google base software, I felt safe enough trying it out cause the Samsung Z Fold 6 just didn't have the charging capabilities this phone was supposed to have but which I could not for the life of me get it to charge at the supported rates. I have tried a over 6 different high wattage chargers from well known brands and none of them were able to get the phone to charge at the rates the phone is supposed to support. Undaunted I then added in the latest cables that supported the specific charging technologies used by this phone... Nope nothing more than 22 watts MAX, for a phone that should be able to go up to 50 watts. The MagicOS this runs on is too lean and lacks the maturity of the Samsung OS I am used to. It feels glitchy too. Things will randomly stop working, like pressing and holding on items on screen will stop and you have to reboot to get it to stop. Weird things like you will set an app as default and those settings will get reverted back to factory defaults after reboot. The camera you have to activate the high res shooting which is a pain and makes no sense, who wants to take low res photos by default? Also the advertised 100x zoom is total crap can't see anything, it's really just feature bait with no real value.Over all tho the device feels solid and the audio is really good, best I have heard in a long time.I'll miss the audio and the snappiness, but that is about it. Too much weirdness and cringe factor cause of the glitches and the whole Huawei spyware/malware history of this company, which seems to still persist even after Honor was separated from Huawei. The apple is always like the tree it fell from, even if it rolled over under a different tree.
