I live in a rural area in an old home- rodents are kind of expected, especially as you get into the colder months. We’re working on sealing up all of the access points outside, and we have two cats, but let me tell you- these traps work fantastic. I bought non-poisonous bait to dab inside the traps in the back corner (there’s a small circle in front of the vented part where to do this), stuck the batteries in, and in the first weekend of use we easily caught 5 mice with the trap! I never noticed a noise, but the catches I’m fairly certain happened overnight. Nothing is sticky- it’s not a glue trap. The light flashes green when it has something in the trap, so it’s very easy to glance over and see if you need to clean it out. To be honest I missed a couple of times where a mouse was caught in some of the more remote spots we set them up, but eventually mother nature let us know (iykyk). Since I do live in a rural area, I’d just throw a vinyl glove on and pick the full trap up, turn it off, and bring it out by the woods to empty it. Pop it open and shake the mouse out (since nothing was poisoned, some other critter outside gets a nice easy snack). I’d then take a couple of cotton swabs dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean out where the bait was and where the mouse was, let it dry and air out, and reset it. The most effective way to set up the trap is to bait it and put it in a quiet room or closet where you think they’re entering up along a wall (there’s hole side next to the wall, not on the outside of the trap) since mice tend to run along the walls. Make sure you check/change the batteries every 6 months (or more often if the traps are getting a lot of action). These traps are fantastic, definitely recommend.

Graet traps, very effective. There really is no mess, no need to rebait every time and no need to have to see the mouse. A light blinks to say when there is a mouse, lift the door (no need to look inside) to empty it wherever you dispose of it, turn it back on and done. I've recommended every time someone mentions the need for traps. My only issue, which is miner, is a very tight space to put the bait in but as I mentioned before you very rarely have to rebait.

I have tried every kind of trap and this is by far the easiest and most humane way to catch them. No mess, easy to dispose of them. Kills them instantly. Caught them within a day. Read instructions carefully for safe usage due to shock plates can injure you. Remove batteries first!

Does it work? Kinda. Two of out of three, the bait would be gone and no mouse. I sort of figure, the mouse has to walk through a dark alley to get to the bait (does it not say danger ahead?), and if the mouse stood on two feet to fetch the bait, then it's safe. On the few occasions, a mouse got zapped, the light would not blink, the box got smelly and messy. The old style snap trap of the same brand has a 100% hit rate compared to this box.

I recently bought an old farmhouse, and after moving in it was clear that I had stepped into a war on mice, I got a little carried away and ordered a few different styles of traps and scattered them everywhere, and these are by far my favorite. I was unsure of the battery's ability to zap the mice, but I have been thoroughly impressed. both have taken care of multiple mice on one set of batteries. One I have inside the house, the other I ended up putting in my detached garage which is not heated and located in Minnesota) and even in the negative temperatures that we have been experiencing the last couple of months, the one in the garage has still caught a couple and finally gave me the light that the batteries were dying after it had caught many mice, and a few in negative temps. when it does catch a mouse, i have never seen any sign of struggle, and i just bring the whole thing to my outside garbage, and dump it out, then re-set the switch and put it back, very clean and easy to use, especially if you struggle stomaching these things. 10/10 I have already recommended these, and will be ordering more if I am unable to seal my house any better than it is currently to keep them out all together, which i would say is the only thing more effective than these.
