I’ve been experimenting with different agar mixes, and this one from Myco Labs is easily one of the best I’ve tried. I used 1 tablespoon (which came out to roughly 20 grams) mixed with 1 liter of water. The powder dissolved quickly, and I poured the mixture into my plates using a glass Pyrex dish. The consistency was spot-on, smooth and easy to work with—no clumps or unevenness.What really impressed me was the growth I’m seeing on these plates compared to my previous batches. The mycelium is spreading faster and looks healthier overall. I think the inclusion of soy peptone might be the secret here. I don’t usually add soy peptone in my other mixes, so this was a pleasant surprise. Whatever the case, my cultures are definitely loving it, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.If you’re looking for a reliable agar powder that delivers excellent growth and consistency, I highly recommend giving this a try. It’s made a noticeable difference in my cultivation process, and I’ll definitely be sticking with this mix for future projects!
