This is it.
I wasn’t sure if I should get this one bc of the amount of reviews it had. For context Ive never used a sewing machine before and it was SO easy, the manual was super instructive, the quality was nice and I found it very easy to use and efficient. It is not too big which is good to store in a normal apartment. 10/10 would buy again.

Great value for an amazing machine!
When my last (almost new) Singer machine was so unsatisfactory I decided to change brands. This entry model computerized Brother is amazing. Infinitely adjustable speed, no fiddling with the tension, and you can operate it with the foot pedal or hand controls. Not sure why it took me so long to get a computerized machine--I love it!

Easy to Use, Huge Array of Stitch Options & Sewing Settings
I'm a novice sewer. I made some clothing projects in highschool many years ago on my mom's old manual singer machine. I've also made many pairs of curtains and furniture covers over the years, which mostly involves simple stitches and straight lines (and the occasional zipper.)So, this machine is a whole new level of complex (but not in a bad way.)It has a vast array of stitch options (most of which I don't need.) The included instruction booklet is easy to understand. I like that I can slow down the sewing speed if I'm doing something complicated. It has an "automatic needle threader", which is not really automatic, in fact you must thread the machine the way you would normally, but, the machine assists you with the final step.... putting the tread through the tiny eye on the needle. (Always a good thing for my old eyes.)Compared to my old mechanical machine that required adjusting various knobs to set stitch length, width, and tension, this computerized machine has an easy-to-use touchscreen that makes sewing much more straightforward. That said, from what I've read, (and heard from friends), the biggest con of this (or any) computerized machine is its repair complexity. I've been told that when something goes wrong, I'll likely need specialized services. Think “IT specialist” rather than “handy neighbor.”However, since nothing's gone wrong yet, I am really enjoying this machine. It is much easier to use than my old machine.
