Troy-Bilt 540cc Briggs & Stratton Intek Automatic 46-Inch Riding Lawnmower

I never thought I'd buy a mower from Amazon, but I did and I'm glad I did! The mower arrived in a crate that needed to be pried open, and cut. I was okay with this because the mower arrived in perfect condition and was packed with care. The product itself is fantastic in every aspect. This is my second lawn tractor (the first was a Tractor Supply Fathers Day Special - mistake only lasted 5 years). This Troy-Bilt has amazing steering, well made and well thought out controls. To be more specific: The gas pedal is truly acts as a safety as if you release the mower will stop on a dime. Additionally, the deck lowers and raises with the ease of a finger. The deck wash function is truly both easy to use and very effective. Overall I'd highly recommend anyone with over a half an acre or more to consider this mower. The Briggs and Stratton engine is flawless and the quality of the mower exceeds my expectations.

I gave it a star only so I could write a review. This thing has chewed through about 19 belts in the 18 months I owned it and I live in an area where you only mow May through October. Also the blade loosened up because the bolt was put on from the factory wrong. This thing crawls and if the grass is over 6” high it jams up and the belt jumps off. I bought this when I got rid of a 1989 craftsman mower. I wish I had bought another old craftsman for parts because this thing is a total piece of crap. And slow. Like the tortiose of lawnmowers. Another annoying thing is that this is made for tall people only. I am 5’ tall and the seat doesn’t go up far enough to reach the petals. To use the parking break I have to hold the seat down and scootch hyperextend my left leg to engage the break. I do not recommend this to anyone. Ever.

Wonderful machine. Easy to assemble. It took longer to get it out of the crate than to assemble. Smooth operation and grass, yard looks great. I appreciate the large gas tank and the cup holder makes me the envy of my neighbors! Great mower.

I have hills in my yard and this mower goes right up them with no problem. A lot more power than my last mower and I can mow my yard in one day instead of 2 like my old mower. I love the automatic transmission feature.

The tractor was received damaged,the transmission would not shift properly and the engine had a bad misfire. The problem was more with the seller than with the equipment.if they had Properly checked and made Minor repairs the item would have been fine.
