Bargain 2 CD set of well chosen tracks, nothing ...
Bargain 2 CD set of well chosen tracks, nothing that made the UK charts so plenty of of tracks to get to know. Most well known tracks will be The Bottle by Gil Scott Heron & Brian Jackson & Cymande The Message. Can't go wrong with this.

Great if northern soul fan.
Will be great nostalgia for northern soul fans. Not quite what I expected. I'm used to Motown soul with their very inventive sounds. This is more low key most of the songs anyway.

Swinging and funky
Not so well known funk tracks are the original and the best to listen and learn from.Familiarity can breed contempt for some...but when this excellent compilation includes familiar Maceo (of James Brown Band),Mavis Staples ,Are Welcome To Stop On By,Runaway Love,Hercules,Freddie’s Dead,The Bottle,Cussin’CryinAnd Carryin’On,Cissy Strut,You Gotta Push ,Will You Be There etc....Superb
