Sounds from Heaven: The Revival on the Isle of Lewis, 1949-1952

This is a beautiful book written with simplicity truth and enclosed a variety of aspects including peoples personal recollections of this glorious move of God in the island on Lewis in the early fifties I have been privileged to meet one or two people from that time and the book has enriched my life in a wonderful way. To me it is a book that should be read by every pastor or leader in the country whose desires is to pray and seek Him for revival in there community. I have read this book time and time again and I am often moved to tears to read from it. I trust this book will become a best seller in the coming years and deserves to be on the bookshelf of every professing believer because it will enrich your life beyond measure and introduce you to something of the glorious depth that God took the believers to in this time. Whole communities where transformed and I give all the praise and glory to God for that. Read enjoy be challenged and may the book be a pivotal moment in your life for a greater sense of urgency to pray and seek His purposes for the future.

This has got to be one the best contemporary accounts of revival available. It has excellent eye witness testimonies, first hand accounts, insights, in fact it has answers to nearly every question you might have about revival.It is well written, down to earth, easy to read and tremendously enlightening to anyone to whom revival is a mystery.

A clear and easy to read account of the 1949 Hebridean revival. I was sad to read of the denominational divisions between the church of Scotland and the free churches, fuelled by the their clergy, fearful of losing church members. What a joy when Christian from both sides get together to pray. The reports from Rev Duncan Campbell and the testimonies of those involved make compelling reading.

A wonderful factual account of the acts of God in the revivals in the Hebrides islands ion the 1950/60's Well worth a read if you are a sceptic of Christianity.

Excellent book, but if you're looking for the amazing, you have to get through alot of date's and times with different preachers first.

This was a wonderful book, revealing the work of the Holy Spirit during revivals on the Isle of Lewis. The letters written by eye witnesses give a lot of details that normally might be missed. The book and letters written in the book really give God the glory He truly deserves. I will keep this book and read it again.

Wonderful to read what happened from multiple perspectives - an excellent book.

Sounds from Heaven is the best book that I have read on revival. The testimonies of the people touched by revival and the sincerity of the language used impressed me as did the historical context and history of the previous revivals. I would recommend this book to anyone really interested in how God touches peoples lives.

Wonderful book about early revivals. Am so happy I purchased this to help me to know more about awakenings to God. This is the time period that President Trumps Mother lived on the island where she was born, later moving to the states.

Arrived in great condition and a blessing to read

This book entranced me from start to finish. Each page is filled with passion for God and passion for the lost. I only pray that I live to be part of so great a move of the Holy Spirit. Anyone who loves revival and/or revival history will love this book!
