WATCH MY VIDEO TO SEE HOW THE HOOD WORKS!!!
The media could not be loaded. The hood works well and is not flawed but it's easy to overlook it on first glance. Please watch my video on how to use the hood. Love the look and feel of the jacket. I went a size larger than normal to allow for layers and it provides plenty of room. I wanted to get this video up to help people struggling with the hood design. The jacket overall is well made and warm. It's waterproof for light rain but if you are caught in a downpour you will get damp.

Good as a practical jacket but only showerproof
Comfy practical and temperature regulating jacket that is sized well. I feel slightly mislead by the marketing though - the fabric panels are waterproof but the seams between them are not sealed. In effect this means you're fine in showers but medium rain will seep through the seams, giving you wet shoulders and arms. The reviewers saying it's waterproof are relying on the water repellent coating, which wears off fairly quickly and only works in lighter rain. It can be topped up though.4 star jacket but loses a star because of the misleading marketing.

Practical and good looking.
This is not as lightweight as say - a Gortex jacket with no lining. But it’s great for me as a gardener outdoors it has enough warmth without overheating. It’s waterproof, no worries. I think it’s comfortable, nicely designed - the zip on hood detail especially nicely designed. Good jacket, practical and better looking than some other ‘leading’ brands. The jacket fabrication feels expensive. Well worth the reasonable cost.

Top notch value
Mostly the Trespass softshells have zip-off hoods, mostly other brands don't so a no-brainer. A good balance between weight, softness and warmth. Yes I do know that soft-shells aren't waterproof but water repelling, windproof and breathable. Saw this design in Trespass but not in my size or navy. Not the intention but saved a bit having to buy online. My previous Trespass softshell was size L which was fine. I found in store Trespass size L was now too small and ordered XL. A perfect fit so consider ordering a size up. One small issue which I've knocked a star off for, my old Trespass soft-shell had inside pouch pockets which I found incredibly useful, this design doesn't so decide for yourself.

Great Product
A warm and windproof softshell jacket that looks great. I have worn it almost every day since I got it and it is just what I was looking for. I took the hood off and have not used it. I have not really tested the waterproofness but it seems OK in the couple of showers that I have been caught in. Only one minor niggle. The zip is a bit flimsy. I managed to disengage it at the bottom on the first day, but have been more careful since and no further problems.

Nice jacket at a sensible price £42
I've bought a number of Trespass clothes and they can be very good value, although not at the often ridiculously high RRPs sometimes asked. This jacket seems well made and is comfortable, windproof and, so far, waterproof. A little long in the sleeve (but velcro fastenings resolve this) and I would prefer that the jacket were slightly longer but, at around £38, a good buy.

Good lasting quality, windproof and waterproof
This is the 2nd coat we've bought as my son out grew his first one. (The previous coat was still in really good condition which is saying something after his wearing it to school everyday for 3 years.) He wears this over his blazer (which is quite thin) it keeps him warm as it seems to be fairly windproof and is definitely waterproof for at least an hour or 2 in fairly heavy rain. I usually wear Montane or Berghaus etc myself but after seeing how good this coat was, I also bought myself a trespass dlx coat and trousers !

Great coat - warm and dry
A lovely jacket. It is pretty warm, though as others have said it can get a bit sweaty, so be slightly careful with what/how much you wear under it! It is warmer than it looks! The waterproof-ness is pretty good as well. Wore it is some heavy rain and it kept me dry. Though it is certainly possibly to soak it through eventually(!) - though that was pretty extreme and continuous rain, and wouldn’t expect to subject it to that very often.
