I am a professional cave explorer and part of a cave rescue team. It is often cold, damp, and unpleasant underground. Sometimes I’ll be under there for 14+ hrs. Hypothermia is a serious concern in the underground environment so I wear a lot of wool and poly pro layers to keep warm and to keep my patients warm. I purchased this beanie to go under my helmet. It is both thin and lightweight but extremely warm and held up great. No seems came undone, it’s been washed multiple times now and the color looks great as well as retaining its softness. I have a small head but this beanie fits great! I wash it in warm water in the machine (I know you’re not supposed to but I’m too lazy to wash all my wool by hand), then hang it to dry. It’s held its shape perfectly and so far is a much better value than Smartwool. I also purchased two base layer sets and a gator from this company (all shown in pictures) and all of their products have held up well, despite the abuse I’ve put them through.

Wore this hat for our Alaska cruise in July and so glad I had it! It kept my head warm on some really cold and rainy days and at the glaciers! It's also very soft and so comfortable! I also liked that it was thin so it packed well. Despite being thin, I had no issues with wind blowing through it which surprised me! It's now my go to hat for winter.

I like that the light weight cozy hat has a label inside stating it is 100% merino wool; this shows me that this is great quality. I bought a different hat from Fuqila (hat vendor) and was shocked that the hat had no inner label. I felt deceived. I am happy with this present purchase of a soft orange hat, it fits comfortably and it keeps my head toasty warm from the bitter cold. I received a surprise from Merino Tech, they tucked in a pair of wonderful merino socks. Thanks so much. I will try those out tomorrow. Stay blessed!!

Wool is absolutely the best. Warm in winter, cool in summer, and no smell! I have two base layers (different weight material), and now a beanie, from this brand and they're all really nice. Each purchase I've made has also included a pair of socks. They are some of my favorite outdoor kit. Everything is super comfortable and soft to the touch, and the fit is perfect. I usually struggle when something specifies special washing instructions. I will admit, I've tossed my base layers and socks into the washer & dryer just like all my other clothing and I've not suffered any significant size change (my experience. Your mileage may vary).

As a buyer of several light to medium-weight MerinoTech undershirts, I thought I'd try this new product. While it is soft and fits well, the fabric is a bit on the thin side. The beanie effectively keeps my head comfortable as long as there's no wind; however, when a cold wind is blowing, it's noticeably less effective. MerinoTech should seriously consider increasing the fabric weight to make this hat a superior product. Recommended more for Southern winters versus Northern.

Exactly what i was looking for. It's so soft, warm and easy wear on. I already ordered two more. The item came into a nice package with care instructions. Plus,an extra gift, a pair of wool socks. Love them. Very happy with this brand. Would highly recommend!

I really like this lightweight wool beanie. It fits great, is really warm, and packs up small. I keep it in my sling bag and it doesn't take up a ton of space.It's very comfortable to wear and dries quickly and stays warm when wet (its wool...go figure).The bonus was the free socks. They are pretty good too. They're not as good as my Darn Tough socks, but few are.I recommend this hat.
