Perfect for journaling and sketchnotes
I have purchased three of these 3-packs, and I am about to place another order. I have been using them for about a year for everything from organizing my quilt plans, calendar journaling to help with Project Life, and more recently for sketch notes during church conferences. I love that I can fit April Conference and October Conference together in the same journal with ample room for each speaker. The book is sturdy but lightweight, and the off-white pages have a grid light enough that I can use a pencil if I really wanted to (unlike the grid composition journals with their bright blue grid lines). I have tested a lot of pens on this paper. Ballpoint pens are perfect, but I haven't had any problems with Gelly Roll by Sakura, and Micron is great with all the different widths and colors. I have also used scrapbook alphabet stickers, scrapbook paper, and washi tape to decorate some of the inner pages.Bottom line: I really love these journals. They are great for my uses, and I will continue to use them for as long as I can buy them.

Moleskine Journals are a pleasure to write on
I use these for class and reading notes in my doctoral program, and love the feel and smoothness of the pages. They're a good size, don't add a ton of bulk to my bag, and have a few tear-out pages, which are convenient for last minute to-dos or scrap paper. I have to admit, I'm a bit of a nut for organization, so I really appreciate the squared version of these journals. My one complaint is that the paper tends to bleed through with most gel pens (hence the four stars). If you haven't given these notebooks a shot yet, they're worth the extra money. Invest in something that will last and you'll enjoy.

I am a big fan of Moleskine, just be careful with sizing choice
I am a big fan of Moleskine. These notebooks are excellent. They are thin enough that you can tuck them into a book and you won't even notice you have it.The paper holds up to any type of ink.Just be warned about Moleskine's sizing. X-Large is a standard size composition type book. It is not a legal page size or something I would consider x-large. So if you want a standard 8 1/2 by 11 size notebook, this is it. ( not sure if it is exactly 8 1/2 by 11 ).Apparently Large in Moleskine's vocabulary is a smaller notebook that standard US sizes. There is a back pocket to hold a few papers.. And the last 10 pages or so are perferated so you can take them out without tearing up the binding.

Expensive, but worth it
I used these for class notes throughout grad school. I love everything about them--the creamy color and texture of the paper, the compact size, the spacing of the grid, the unpretentious cover. One notebook is just about the right size for a course's worth of notes (I naturally write small and only use the front of each page). The last several pages are perforated for easy removal, if you so desire. They are rather expensive, but they are worth it. Do make sure to check the size you are ordering, as they might not be as big as you think.

Consider your work environment...
You will love the grid style pages if you need to do drawings and flow charts to accompany your notes...They are not great for "field work" since the cover is soft - walking around (in warehouses and distribution centers for example) and taking notes requires you to carry something with a hard surface (like a clipboard)...Perfect for notes taken in an office environment or at the desk.

Overpriced and underwhelmed.
They function as they are supposed too. A little low on paper count, and unnecessarily expensive. The cardboard cover does not hold up well to rigorous use. Will buy again if they lower the price significantly. Until then not nearly worth the money.

Lovely books
I write with a fountain pen. It's not easy to find notebooks with paper with a surface perfect for the application of fountain pen ink, so these Moleskines really hit the spot. I have both the blue lined and red squared versions. The bindings are solid, the covers pleasant to the touch and the thickness ideal for easy portability.

Good value and fit for purpose.
These are very useful notebooks for research purposes. Larger pages make for better layout of notes, allowing for inclusion of diagrams and flowcharts - and that's also facilitated by the squared pages.I'm a fountain-pen user, and Moleskine's notebooks are never wonderful from that perspective - but this paper holds up relatively well (depending upon colour) with only a modest amount of bleed-through. If these notebooks used paper of a similar quality to Clairfontaine, Rhodia or even Leuchtturm, then it would be a five-star. It's surprising that Moleskine appear to almost entirely ignore the community of fountain-pen users.

A touch expensive but really, really nice
I went for the extra large, squared notebooks in red and absolutely love them, perfect for everyday journalling. I write on them with a Lamy Safari Medium nib pen with the blue Lamy cartridges, and while you can see some of the writing through the page, its certainly not enough to stop you using both sides of the page. The document pocket at the back is a nice touch too

Quality has gone down hill. I have bought these ...
Quality has gone down hill.I have bought these books for years, but the latest batches result in lots of fountain pen ink bleeding.

quaderni per l'università
Ho sempre usato i quaderni moleskine per prendere appunti all'università.
