Best of all Amazon toys
I was on the fence between Skylight's calender for $550 with a $75/yr membership fee and this. My main issue was getting my family to update the family calender LEGIBLY and it got to be a royal pain to first put something in my phone calender and then get around to adding it to my dry erase calender.The price point is an obvious plus, but the other is the fact that Amazon is going to be around for a while. I've gotten stuck with computer products where the companies went under or no longer supported the software and I didn't want to get stuck like that again. Plus, this is far more versatile.So let's start with pros... there are many. Literally plug and play. Not much for set up and I immediately could see and adjust my Google calender at a glance. I can have personal photos or seasonal background photos as Screensaver. I like that I can see all my security camera perspectives from here, make dinner reservations, see recipes, watch for sales, get the weather and so much more. I also love that I can tell Alexa to put something on my calender and it populates to my PHONE. Total time saver. I can order stuff from Amazon and add stuff to my grocery list, too. Can also watch my movies or tv.The ONLY minus is there's a bit of a lag going live with the Ring doorbell.

Love it!
I absolutely love this thing so to my grandkids now I can watch my shows while I cook dinner because it has Netflix and other apps installed the camera follow which is super cool and now the new Alexa has a whole conversation with you! lol I love the fact that it has Amazon TV built in. the only thing I don’t like is that even though I can get on my Facebook with it I can’t use messenger but that’s OK. That just means I’ll have to buy more Alexis for my family to stay in touch long distance.. I have 6 of them and will buy more like this one in the future! I Only wish they would make an enclosure that’s waterproof. That way I could use Alexa to listen to music and watch television while I’m in the hot tub hands-free music would be wonderful.

If you love tech you will love the Echo Show 21!
I have previously had an echo show 8. I wanted something larger and easier to see from across the room. This was exactly what I was looking for! The value was a little more that I was prepared for, but I decided to make the purchase anyway. I am so glad I did. It is a high quality item, it has a good weight too it and has a picture clarity as good as my TV. I am mostly an Apple user, but I was able to link my calendar to the Echo and it is fantastic! I am still learning how to use all the features, because android is not as familiar to me. The basic functions are easy to grasp, but I struggle some with the more advanced functions. As with anything else, some of the functions require a subscription, so I have not decided if I want to pay for some of the functions. I love that during the day it is bright enough to read from across the room, and at night the screen is dimmer. As I learn the ins and outs I will be better able to point out specific things I love and others that are not to my liking. I will update again once I have had it for several more months.

The Echo Show 21 is a Worthy Investment
Just added the Echo Show 21 to my smart home; not as a hub, but as a personal device with Fire TV for my office. I'm an avid music and movie buff. We have several other echo devices throughout our home. Therefore, I can escape to my office which is off limits to others (smile) even though I have a complete media room with Dolby Atmos. I opted for the compatible stand versus wall mounting. It's fits perfectly on a cabinet next to my desk. The HD screen resolution is clear and crisp and complements the FireTV for movies. Luckily, my office layout allows for ambient light to the rear of the Echo Show 21; so glare is not an issue with its highly reflective screen. The stereo speakers (high, mid and low) are surprisingly good for an enclosure of its size. I was able to purchase the Echo Sub from another source; as it's not available on Amazon which is strange? The sub increased the low end and allowed the internal speakers to focus on mids and highs. The listening experience for music was greatly improved. However, with or without the sub IMO you won't be disappointed.The included remote is a nice addition. Its minimalist design is simple and straight forward. Most will have no difficulty in mastering its functions.Setup of both the Echo Show 21 and Echo Sub was for the most part was straight forward. As I'm a Prime member the Echo Show 21 found my account and joined my network with no intervention by me. Although the Echo Sub powered up and found my network as well; a reboot was required of both devcies to get them in sync. After the reboot all was well.I can control all my smart devices such as speakers (including non-echo like Sonos), lights, TV's and ADT security system. Adding apps and connecting to my accounts such as AppleMusic, Tidal, Paramount and others is easy. Having the ability to view all my security cameras at once is an extra plus! 5 Stars as it does what it's designed to do. A lesser rating would be personal nit-picking. Least I forget; the Echo Show 21 and Echo Sub were both well packaged.Therefore, all said I would highly recommend the Echo Show 21 for those wanting a smart hub or personal device (like me) for music and movies. BTW…get the Echo Sub if you can. It makes for a complete audio package for music.Unfortunately, at this time low-end effects do not transfer to the Echo Sub for movies viewed on the Fire TV. Hopefully Amazon will rectify the omission in a future software update. However, it's not a deal breaker for me.
