I'm impressed with the minimalist design and ease of use of this soda maker. I've had SodaStream machines and this one works just as well. My model came with metal finishings which I appreciate over the full plastic models - just aesthetics, I doubt any difference in functionality. Note this soda maker only fits the original SodaStream gas cylinders (blue), not the newer cylinders (pink). It also doesn't fit SodaStream bottles, only Philips brand ones. However this isn't a bad thing - Philips ones are better quality, made from thicker plastic with metal casings and price comparable to SodaStream ones.

The ease of use is great. No plug in, no battery, you can essentially use this anywhere.We ordered two replacement bottles that were NOT a fit for this product. Had to return and order based on model number.I’ve had this for two months and now all the sudden my bottles will no longer screw in. Trying to troubleshoot with manufacturer on this.The carbonation dies not seem to last overnight, despite being sealed and refrigerated.But when it did work, I love the results. Now I want to try mineral water vs. my normal fridge water.Frustrating it’s currently not working because I can’t twist in the water bottle.

Does not even come with a carbon di oxide bottle to start with. So one has to order the CO2 bottle with the order . This is not something that is mentioned when you but this contraption. THEN IT DOES NOT SAY WHAT TYPE OF CO2 BOTTLE TO BUY . HAD TO STRUGGLE WITH IT BEFORE I COULD DRINK A GLASS OF WATER OUT OF THEI CONTRAPTION. MORE TROUBLE THAN IT IS WORTH LET ME TELL YOU. THIS HAS BEEN AN ORDEAL. NOWHERE DOES IT SAY WHAT KIND OF CARBONATOR BOTTLE GOES WITH THE CONTRAPTION SCREW TYPE OR QUICK TYPE.

So far, I have bought two soda streams machines and the the Aarke, the Philips is my favorite. Aarke broke down after one year of use, after back and forth emails, they wanted me to send it to them, I have no time for that, I bought the Philips 2 years ago, it became my favorite, this one is a gift to a friend.

If you want more bubbles, this beats sodastreamJust note that if you want to use a large CO2 tank, you can't connect a tank adapter to it without cutting into it.

This machine seems to use a refill canister very very quickly. With my older machine I could press it and hold for a count of 8 and the canister lasted for a long time, but this machine seems to go through the gas in 2 weeks or less. It should last a lot longer I think. Anyone else seem to notice this?
