Keeps the bear off the birdfeeder!
I used it to bearproof the 14-foot high bird feeder I built that the bear still managed to climb! It was scary to me to use electricity but set-up was actually quite easy and safe. No harm to squirrels and birds, they are not grounded. The first night, I heard a loud "thunk" and a groan, the motion light came on, I saw the pole shake for a couple of seconds, but the birdfeeders were untouched. No bear problem now. I sympathize with the bears who lost habitat in the fires but it's never a good idea to attract or feed them, and this way I can keep seeing my bird buddies.

Perfect for Easy Pasture Rotation or Camping w/Horses
I recently purchased this solar fence charger for a trip in which my horse would be in a paddock with electric fence, but no charger. It comes with three other pieces (a red cord w/alligator clip, a black cord with alligator clip and a black wall charging cord).I plugged it in to charge the night before I started using it to ensure that it would have plenty of battery power. While I didn't test it with a fence tester, upon hooking it up and it both had a light that flashed on it and once connected to the fence, had the telltale popping pulse sound that electric fences tend to have.I attached it to the fence on a Thursday afternoon and sat the charger on the ground with the solar panel facing south so that it could recharge as needed. It continued to work all weekend and was still working on Monday when I turned it off to pack up and come home. It is designed to sit on the top of a T-post or to hang on a screw/nail that is coming out of a wood post. It also has a handle, which could also be used to hang it somewhere. The build quality seems good enough. It is not heavy, but also not super light. The design has the solar panel integrated into the front surface with two small LEDs on the front. One indicates power, the other indicates that it's pulsing the charge. There is a switch on the bottom to turn the entire unit on/off. On the back are two bolts with caps: one red, for attaching the red cord. One black for attaching the ground (black cord). It's worth noting that a series of storms went through while I was using this unit and it did not seem to affect it in any way. I don't know if cold/freezing/ice/etc would change that, but it worked great in a hot, humid, T-storm summer environment, did not seem to take on any water and kept my horse safely in a paddock. Why only 4 Stars? My only real complaint was the length of the black ground cord. The red and black cables are the same length and if you had the unit mounted on the top of a 4' T-post, the black ground cord would be too short to reach the ground -- or rather, you'd need a long/tall grounding rod. If the mfg doubled the length of the black grounding cord, that would be the great!

Great little but powerful electric fence
I recently picked up the Epoify 24-Hour Solar Electric Fence Charger and overall, I’m impressed. The first thing that caught my attention is that it’s fully solar powered and recharges itself during the day. That’s a big win for me since it keeps running costs down and saves the hassle of replacing or recharging batteries. The manufacturer advertises coverage for up to 10 miles of fencing and claims it delivers around 10,200 volts with about 0.18 joules of power, pretty solid numbers for a compact, portable unit. There are a few things I really like about it. The solar charging feature makes it a great option for remote pastures or areas without easy access to electricity. If it truly keeps running 24/7, it’s a big convenience upgrade. The stated 10-mile range is also impressive for a unit this size, and the voltage rating should be enough to keep livestock in and unwanted visitors out, as long as the fence is in good shape and the lines are clear. I also appreciate how portable it is. It’s not a big, bulky unit, so it’s easier to move around and set up on different fence lines when needed. That said, there are a few things to keep in mind. Like most solar chargers, the “up to 10,200 volts” number is likely under ideal conditions, full sun, short and clean fence line, and no vegetation grounding the wire. Performance may drop on cloudy days or if the fence isn’t well maintained. The power output is only 0.18 joules, which is fine for smaller enclosures but might not deliver a strong enough jolt for larger animals or long fence runs. Since it’s exposed to the elements, durability of the solar panel and internal battery will matter over time. If you need heavy-duty power or maximum reliability during storms or high-stress situations, you may want to invest in a higher-joule unit or one with a backup power option.Overall, I think this is a great solution for light to moderate use, perfect for small farms, gardens, or hobby livestock setups where convenience and solar power are priorities. It’s easy to set up, portable, and offers good value for the price. Just make sure your fence is well maintained and that your needs don’t exceed its power capacity. If you’re running very long fence lines or keeping in large, strong animals, you might want to step up to a more powerful charger.

only worked for 47 day
Stop charging after 47 days.Solar will not charge it as well as the ac charger. Been on ac charger for 24 hours and no lights or fire from unit.Worked great for the 47 days

Powerful. Dependable little fence
I was hesitant purchasing this skeptical about the bite a solar powered shock might be, definitely going the distance, but my goodness this little guy packs the perfect punch! This is a great price and truly holds a charge. I have not had a single issue escaping or even a fluctuation in the current delivered. Well worth it, will buy again and again if more pastures. Cannot stress it's ability to holdit's charge.

Great fence charger especially for the price
This charger works great. I currently use it to keep my horse from itching on the panels I use as fencing and the shock is plenty strong enough to keep him from touching it. I turn it off at night most nights but the few times I have accidentally left it on it held a charge just fine. Charged great even all winter with the very gray days here in the PNW. I would buy another one in the future as needed for other paddocks. My only complaint is the grounding cord is a bit short as others have mentioned but I have a fairly long ground rod so it wasn’t a problem.
