Great marble run. Highly recommend.
This kit is very well made. All the pieces are snug but not impossible to set. I had messed up and put a couple pieces in the wrong spot. I was able to correct my mistakes without losing the ability to hold. The art work and paint are great. Looks very professional. Personally I think that the plastic is durable. Some of the parts are small and look fragile, but not a single piece broke. The kit comes with all of the tools needed. The screwdriver is magnetic. I used the clippers that came with it and actually was surprised by how well they worked. They didn’t scrimp on the clippers. I do however wish that they could reach a little further on the tip. Had to think a little more about the best side to cut with. I did find the instructions a little confusing when it came to the different arrangements. In order to set up when connecting other models, you have to set the start and stop differently. The steps for the different arrangements are mixed together. Does take time to build, but is definitely worth it. Looks really cool when it is lit up. The power cord is really short and there isn’t an adapter included. Usbc. Would definitely recommend.

Fun and Challenging
I got this for my 11 year old son and we assembled it together. It was a fun bonding activity and required a lot of attention to detail. We had some debugging issues but sorted those out quickly and now it works great and looks fantastic.

Well worth it
Very fun build. Can perhaps be done in 90 mins if you don't take your time removing parts from the sprues and not deburring them. Instructions for the most part were well done and simple to follow. The instructions for how to assemble the elevator towers was a bit convoluted, but I was able to figure it out. Lots of fun to see the machine in action!

Great Looking Kinetic Models.
I got these for my son for his birthday. He built one over a weekend, willingly getting him off screens for a few days. The sets are high quality and look great. My son was really proud of the end result and was showing me how it all fit together without glue. If you don't have a really good pair of flush cutters (for model making), do yourself a favor and get some. That's not really part of the review, but it'll make the build process and end product that much better.

FUN BUILD - BUT THE FINISHED PRODUCT IS NOT PERFECT....
So... This will be a long post... Since my review applies to both the last city kit, and the future city kit... I am posting this same review for both... I was impressed with the Kickstarter Story for these two marble runs, so I had to get them... First I purchased and built the last city, then two days later, the future city kit... Both are top notch very high quality kits - Great part fitment... Great Instructions for the actual marble runs, but the actual mechanical marble lift module instructions left a lot of room for clarity... Not overly clear, and too easy to miss a step... I actually had to put it together and take it apart many times to get it to work, I wore out some of the screw holes.. Thankfully, both kits have the same mechanical lift mechanism, and you only need one to run them together... I joined the two finished runs with the lift module in the middle (B:A configuration) The last city marble run, runs perfectly 99% of the time... The Future city "jams" on more occasions then the last city kit... It runs OK about 95% of the time...But the marbles sometimes get stuck, and clog up the track path... The biggest issue for me is that when you electrically join the kits, no matter who is "primary", and which is "secondary", the secondary one has a mind of its own if you run them on the 10-minute timer.... The "B" kit lights turn on and off at random, regardless of what the master "A" kit is doing... If you turn them on from the "A" kit, and turn them off manually before the 10-minute timer shuts them off, they are fine... When you let the 10-minute timer turn them off - that is when the "B" unit decides to do what it wants... Turning off the power and waiting a minute, then only turning them on and off manually, seems to solve the problem... I was going to purchase one more of each, to make the 2-wide, 2-high version... But based on the fact you can not get two to sync electrically correctly, I do not want to waste the money on 2-more kits, for fear four of them will never ever sync correctly... Can't wait for the next kit to come out... I really hope they make more... One final note... Make sure they a on a level surface both front to back, and side to side... They are VERY sensitive to any out of level situations... They need to build a little bubble level into the top of every case to ease placement...

Waste of money lift doesn't work, marbles get stuck
(edit) I reached out to customer support and they were so patient and kind! They helped me figure the issue out so now it works no issue!

Fun to put together but not functional
My boyfriend spent hours putting this together—only for the elevator portion to not work and fry the circuit board for the entire system. It was incredibly disappointing and I wish I had bought him ANYTHING else as a gift. Save your money.

Absolute Beautiful, Might even consider buying the other set
Easy to assemble. Its a very simple model kit to introduce into leds and cutting pieces. Comes with some "nippers" in form of a nailclipper lol, i just used my traditional one for model kits. Recommend having a spearhead scalpel, maybe a nail file, some space to store plastic excess before throwing and patience, along with space to put every piece in order (i used my bed personally). Take into account the part list for the model itself and the lift is different, each have their own, even if they are called the same, use the part list if you need it, its easier that way, also the cables come colored so you dont get confused. Aside from the looks and the process, i dont like the lift. It works and it carries a lot of marbles at the same time, but its noisy as hell and if your table is just slightly bent, the marbles will get stuck and youll have to shake the machine to make it work again. Fortunately, it has some anti jamming methods like a loose top cap in case marbles accumulate and a magnetic tool to manually take the marbles out in case you need it, but overall, its a great product. Im really considering in buying the other version to have them stacked. 4.5/5.0
