I purchased this chess board for my daughter who is a chess beginner. With this chess board she could play, learn and hopefully improve her skill by herself. I’m impressed with its fancy packaging and nice quality. It is light and convenient, so that you can even take it with you for traveling. The chess pieces are magnetic, and the board comes with two drawers, so that you don’t need to worry about losing the pieces. The device has three modes: training, match, and human. When you first turn on the device, it is in the training mode which is designed with 20 levels. The player plays the white pieces, and the computer plays the black. The computer reacts very quickly. It tells you which piece to be moved and the destination by flashing the lights and voice. The board has hint button which is also helpful for beginners. I would highly recommend reading the manual before starting the game. Overall I'm happy with the purchase. I think my daughter will be enjoying it very much.

Both as a grandfather that wants to teach his grandchildren chess and is a person that wants to really learn chess and improve. This is a fantastic board.I am surprised it is not more popular for all the features it has. It works flawlessly for me and actually is a good price for all the features. I checked out numerous other chessboards and found this to fit my needs the best.

Takes time getting used to it coming from a different electronic chess board but all is working now, lots of fun.

I was on a competition chess team back in High School, and wanted to teach my granddaughters to play, so this seemed like a nice idea with the lights showing valid moves and covered moves. I found that I’m playing against the computer several times a day now. Beyond the default training mode, it took some reading of the manual and experimenting to set up other modes including best settings for person-to-person competition. Once I fully understood the settings the device went beyond my expectations. What is really beneficial is that you can set skill levels that equate to completion ratings. Being away from completions for decades my skill level was frustratingly poor at first, but now that I’m playing regularly my skill level is quickly improving. Love this device .

I had previously bought a different board but had to return it because it required a phone to work. This one works nicely on its own! Very enjoyable! Good value nice design.But a few days later the boys i bought this for lost a piece. When i went online to buy replacements, they were not available. Pretty frustrating, because now they can’t really play with it. So it’s sitting there collecting dust. Remplacement pieces are extremely important!!! When will you make them available???

My 6-year-old *begs* to play “robot chess” daily—the LED lights make learning fun, and he’s obsessed with “beating the computer.” I love that it’s screen-free but still feels high-tech! It’s sturdy enough for his wild moves, and we even take it to the park. Prime shipping saved me from endless “Is it here yet?!” meltdowns. Downside? Now he beats *me* at chess… and gloats. 😂 Perfect for gadget-loving kids who need a brain boost! ♟️✨ **Worth every penny.**

I have no idea how this has any reviews above one star. It is near impossible to set it up to play to humans with the lights on it always defaults to training mode, which is human versus computer and even when you do get it to work the computer easily gets confused and the board becomes corrupt and you have to start over. It was a nice idea in theory, but the implementation is useless. I will be sending mine back too bad. It was a gift for my son on his birthday and I have been looking forward to playing with him all week.
