I am a reading specialist and attended a CLOVER training by the author years ago. Hands down, this is method for teaching syllabication faster, easier, and is immediately applicable. The pages in the text allow for deep levels of application within real words that appear in texts that students are currently reading. This is NOT a curriculum. It is a set of strategies that address the 6 most common syllable types. A basic anchor chart after initial teaching and use allow readers at any age to break words apart to read and SPELL! Seriously, this is a total keeper. My low readers feel so empowered during small groups, and classroom teachers immediately noticed huge changes in their word attack skills and encoding. If you teach SPED, Title 1, or have a low level intervention group this is worth every penny!
