Does not come with any of the things promised in the listing
All you get is the raw panel, and not even the one shown in the picture. The connector is different, it has no driver chip in the cable, which from the product title led me to believe it was a built in SPI chip. Pretty poor comms from seller too.

Connection is too fragile
The display itself is very nice but the gold ribbon connection at the bottom of the screen is ridiculously fragile, making it impossible to stand up or move without causing irreparable damage. A guy on youtube had the same problem. Going to have to have a long think about buying a replacement. Waveshare need to look into strengthening or protecting the connection.

Nice Large Panel
Pretty good panel. Updates in a few seconds. Resolution is 800x480. Seems to need entire display updated in one go, haven’t found a way to localise a change. My only concern is the vulnerability of the ribbon cable if bent. But it does have a lot of give and works directly or via an extension cable into all Waveshare driver boards (pico, esp32, esp8266, etc). No noticeable power drain in sleep, and zero if not connected to any power obviously. Some driver boards do need special considerations for power saving though. Back of the panel shows an inverse of what’s displayed, but nothing transparent when viewed from the front. It’s also stiff and solid even though it’s only about 1mm thick. I’d recommend it over the same sized tri-colour version as it draws the display a lot quicker.

Stopped working
Managed to get it working for about 10min. Then burnt screen and stopped working altogether. Sending it back

This display is exactly what it is advertised to be...a 7.5" e-paper display. Note that this display DOES NOT come with a driver board, so you will need to purchase one separately for your setup. I connected mine to a Waveshare ESP32 board, so I used Arduino IDE to program it. There is a steep learning curve with these displays if you've never worked with e-paper...it's not as simple as just sending a "print" command to the display; you have to build up a display buffer and then send the buffer contents to the display and then refresh the display. If you're looking for a large, low power, easily readable display for your project, this is a great option.

Guter Kontrast, hohe Auflösung, schneller refresh und langsamer (full/blinking) refresh. Im Falle des Betriebs durch einen ESP32 in Rust, der Treiber epd7in5_v2 vom edp-waveshare crate funktioniert.

Waveshare does not bother to maintain their documentation. Very outdated instructions on wiki
