LEARN ABOUT FED AND WHO CONTROL THE MONEY IN AMERICA

A must read
Absolutely fascinating account of US central bank policies over the last few decades and the distortions these policies create in the markets and society as a whole. Certainly not the conclusion of the author but many people reading this book will invariably come to the same conclusion that I did - bitcoin fixes this!

Exceptional book – highly recommended
This is the sort of book that you read which suddenly helps you to make sense of the world – it is properly eye opening. While everyone is looking at interest rates and price inflation, this book clearly shows why quantitative easing and asset prices are just as important, if not more so.I'm well read in economics, but this book clearly goes through how quantitative easing actually works, and importantly how it filters through the banking / finance industry. Want to know why asset prices hit record highs in the middle of a pandemic, or why income inequality has increased in the last decade? Answer - quantitative easing. However, having made it clear how central banks have been operating, you can't help but conclude that in their attempt to resolve short term problems, they have simply rolled it up in to a massive long term problem. If you read an economics book this year, I would highly recommend it is this one.

Not awe inspiring but informative
Leonard does a decent job in describing the decisions the Fed made in the free money era. I'm a professional investor, I lived through all these activities, but I still learned something.I'd prefer fewer anecdotes, more hard data, but that's not really the point of the book.

Had the potential to be a good book, but compromised by party political narratives
An insightful book severely compromised by Mr Leonard's frequent digressions into Trump hating, perpetuating the discredited official Coronavirus narrative and election-fraud denial, none of which are really relevant to the subject at hand. Presumably he wants to appease his patrons at The New York Times and Washington Post.
