Great when looking at the end goal
Anyone looking to buy this figure is doing so to build Devastator. As a standalone figure, it definitely has its shortcomings. Size of the figure is small and chunky. Easy to transform between modes. Quality of the plastic is great and joints are strong and they have to be when it comes to being combined. Has very good articulation, but the figure itself is compromised in favor of forming Devastator. I really wish they included more plastic with this figure for it's price. More accessories or effect pieces would be nice.Overall, still very happy with the figure.

Pretty Faithful Looking to his Animation Model.
Besides having Alligator Arms, Bonecrusher is a solid figure with a straightforward transformation. Strangely enough though, he is about as big and beefy as Scrapper and is $10 less. I guess that Scavenger will be $25, and Mixmaster will be $35?

The worst deluxe class figure of the modern era
This figure sucks. That's just all there is to it. Part of it stems from the fact that the original design sucks and in keeping with generation 1 accuracy they had to make it look like it did back then. I'd hoped they could have come up with something to make it not so terrible, but they really didn't. A bit on the large side for a deluxe, like his team partner Scrapper which I also have (and reviewed poorly as he's overpriced). Alt mode looks okay.I think had they not been so focused on accuracy to the old designs this could have been much, much better. But that original design hangs like an anchor on Bonecrusher here. Even as a kid I thought his toy and design looked bad and just lazy. Still does. Tiny useless arms. Fists are just molded parts of the arm painted different, like this was a toy made for 4 year olds who'd pull it apart otherwise. Nothing could have made those tread legs look good without reimaging them. The scoop coming up to form the chest completely locks all potential for waist movement and the body is blocky and not at all robotish. It's a box with a head standing on pegs with two t-rex arms hanging pointlessly on it's sides. If it didn't have a head you could be forgiven for not thinking this even looked like a robot. That said, good head sculpt! An unfortunate necessary purchase on my way to get the full Devastator.
