This controller is amazing! I use it to control my PTZ cameras (Obsbots) for streaming softball games, and this helps me smoothly capture the perfect shots during fast action using either the preset buttons or the joystick itself. Being able to configure the video settings and speed of movement of the cameras with it has been a gamechanger!

Pros: This section is shorter, but carries more weight. First and foremost: I had quick response from customer support. They got me pointed in the right direction to fix a couple of issues I was having. That's a huge plus in my book. Tons of features. Decent touch screen. Bigger screen (and decent image) than most for previewing the camera feed. Single button presses to switch cameras and to switch present views. Our previous controller required 3 button presses for one action. Cons: This is only the second joystick controller I have used, so my experience is limited but my first impression is that there does seem to be just a slightly longer delay between moving the joystick and seeing the change of view on the preview screen. I don't know if that's a function the controller or protocol or camera, but our older and cheaper quality controller seemed a hair faster. Outside of that, my only other two complaints are minor: In some parts of the touch screen menu (like the URL field), it brings up a virtual keyboard making it much easier to type in the value you want/need, but in other parts (like the Name field) it does not - leaving you to use the telephone style keypad to toggle through the characters to enter. I think it should always present the virtual keyboard to enter custom values. The other minor thing is that I wish when you were previewing the camera feed that it would at least temporarily show a setting when you are changing it. For example: If you want to change the speed of the zoom or pan/tilt motions while in preview, you can certainly change them, but you do not see how much you are changing them. unless you go back to the Cam Info screen.

I’ve been using AVKANS pts cameras for several years now with and older controller. The powerjoy controller took my setup to a whole new level. And, I’m incorporating Obsbot ptz cams in my setup now and they work flawlessly with the controller as well. The NDI option makes it simple and quick. My favorite is the preview screen… A well designed and super functional controller.

This controller is easy to set up and functions nicely to control the two AVKANS LV20N cameras that we purchased for use in a worship center. The pan, tilt and zoom speed is easy to control based on how far you move the joystick. The default, programmable function keys allow you to turn AI tracking on and off on the cameras. Currently, however, you are unable to control the AI tracking mode (wide, normal or zoom) from the controller since AVKANS has not yet created visca IP control commands for these options. Hopefully they will do so soon, so the IR remote (only way to do it currently) will no longer be needed. The manufacturer answered email questions fully in less than 12 hours. Excellent support.

Great product. The only downside of this product is that the screen is small but it still very usable.

I have owned several PTZ Controllers during my time as a video professional and this one is quite packed with features for the price. I am using this one with the Obsbot Tail2 cameras and I like that I can control many features on the cameras, including focus assist, white balance and of course the ability to control the cameras PTZ with one or two hands. The unit can identify NDI cameras on your network, making set up quick and easy. The POE feature also a time and cable saver making this the most functional controller I have owned. The connectivity is quick and easy with a one cable connection to my PoE Switch. It also has worked with other brands of PTZ cameras like the popular Prisual and AVKANS camera line. The board is compact and lightweight, which is great for mobile set ups. I appreciate that the unit comes with a molded foam for easy storage and transportation. All in all, I am loving this controller and find it to be good value for my buck. It is highly customizable and accepts all standard connections, ONVID, PELCO, VISCA-Sony and others, including NDI.
