This Is One Of the Best Self-Heating Mugs I've Experienced
I would like to start by saying this is not a paid review at all. I am very passionate and very picky about my coffee mugs. Feel, taste, features, spill-protection, and quality all go into account and this travel mug checks pretty much everyone box. I included photos as well to better show off the mug.I ended up getting myself this mug for Christmas because the other one I got from Walmart (pictured) was so bad. It was tiny, died incredibly fast off the charging pad and took so long to warm the coffee up once turned on.The Nextmug though blows it out of the water. Only takes minutes to have my coffee at the perfect temp, which for me is "Warm". I did not test the other temps however because I do not use them. The mug itself stays charged for a few hours while left powered on but undocked from the charging pad, which does not sound too great when you first think about it but you have to consider it is a tall-ish mug that is providing internal heat and holding it for X amount of time.Speaking of that, off the charging pad, it holds the "Warm" temperature setting for about 5ish hours. The lid is incredibly secure, pretty much air tight. I tested by filling it up with water and shaking it and barely any liquid came out. I did not test how durable it is by dropping it on hard surfaces however because I really do like my mug and I'd hate to damage it. Realistically, I'd avoid dropping it at all considering it is a machine at its core and dropping any machinery risks making it dysfunctional. You could also damage the "shell" of the mug, making the test essentially not worth it for me.All the heat is contained within the mug so you do not have to worry about burning yourself while holding it. It holds about 16 fl oz of liquid per the description (about the same amount as the black mug in the picture), half of the mug being the liquid holder and the other half being the charging base/battery.It fits perfectly in car holders and the car cup sleeves. If the battery duration of a few hours does not sound too attractive, one way you can use this mug is by making your coffee in it and then only turning it on when you actually are about to drink the coffee. During a long trip, in the office, walking a trail, among several other scenarios, 5 hours to work with for a self-heating mug is really good in my opinion. The design is sleek, it feels really nice, it looks great, the LED lights are useful and vary (green for the charging indicator and white indicating the temp settings). To put things in perspective, I mostly only used the black Walmart mug sporadically and dreaded doing so. I would make my coffee, sit it on the pad, and wait hours for it to actually heat up. It'd get so bad, by the time my coffee was ready, I didn't really want it anymore. Instead, I drank it because I made it and didn't want to waste the effort of going through making it.The Nextmug however, I've drank at least 3-5 mug fulls of it throughout the day because it's so easy to use, the coffee is ready so quick, and the LED lights are so easy to understand/see. It blinks on the temp setting while it's warming up, then becomes solid when the liquid contained in it has reached the temperature you have set. After that, it's good to go.I've used it nonstop since I have purchased it and there are VERY few products I can say that for. That does it for my review! No, I'm not a salesman and I am not being paid for this review. I am just a very satisfied customer and I really, really like this mug. I know how tough it can be to find the "right" mug and I did a LOT of research before I decided on this one. I considered the one that allows you to use your app through it (I believe it's the Ember one) but something about this one just called out to me.It may be $100~ but I can give 100+ reasons and maybe more for why this mug is so good and worth it. I could do a whole presentation even! And because of that, I must say without a doubt, it is well worth it. Every penny.Thank you for such a quality product and an AMAZING christmas gift for myself! I love my mug! 💛

This is the mug you're looking for! keeps it HOT!
This is the one! You've been looking for the cup that keeps your coffee hot. Not warm; Hot. This is that mug. It's got a comfortable feel, holds a lot of liquid, and gets and stays piping hot!. Controls are easy to use, just make sure you turn it on and select the desired temp. It feels like it's high quality, so I expect to to last a while. It's lasted 5 months of near daily use so far and no complaints yet. We've gone through several different mugs and none of them kept the coffee hot for long. This mug actually lets you set it to a high temp, use a lid to retain heat, and doesn't require you to use the charging plate to maintain hot temps! What's the use of a travel mug that you can't travel with? You'll get a long hot cup here.

Awesome cup
I have had several heated mugs and this one is the best yet. Worth every penny. I like my coffee hot on the highest setting. I have been using it camping this weekend and it has been on high for 2 hours. It is still on. Great length of time staying hot and I love the size. Works great for van and camping life.

Expensive but a good purchase
I love this mug. I'm a slow coffee drinker. I've been using a popular Japanese mug that keeps things hot for hours. Only problem with it is that it's so good at keeping things hot, it continues to cook the coffee and it eventually is burned. This is not the case with the Nextmug. If I'm done drinking for the moment, I can turn it completely off and reheat as needed. Somehow, it does not burn the coffee. Yes, I wish it had a bit more volume; it holds a medium coffee. But this is something I knew while purchasing. I also bought several coasters to keep in different spots. My only complaints are battery life and leakage. This thing is definitely not leak proof. It leaks around the spout area if the mug is tilted, so you cannot just throw this in a bag. It has to remain upright. Ive found that it doesn't leak around the lid itself, but just the spout (and it's significant leakage). I wish they'd make a lid with a leak proof spout, like the aforementioned Japanese travel mug. Battery life isn't great either. I've maybe gotten 2-3 hours on hot, and less than that on piping. This is why I bought several coasters, so I can keep it charged when I am sitting still.Overall, though, I'm very satisfied with the purchase. With a new lid, this would be a home run for me.

Finally!
This is the keeper. I have done a lot of research, reviews reviews, purchasing, and returning in my quest for a coffee mug that keeps my coffee nice and hot while i sit in my favorite spot, working my morning puzzles. The reservoir is about equivalent to my regular coffee mug. The adjustable temperature setting is a nice bonus (I like the middle-hot setting just fine). I wanted to sit away from an outlet for an hour or so, sipping hot coffee, and this mug finally allows me to do that and not need a refill because it is too small or have to drink cooled down coffee.I have found a lot of great warmers to put my ceramic mugs on, but I prefer options to move about the house or sit in the middle of the roomAn additional note-I prefer to not use a lid unless on the move, and even with the lid off, the coffee stayed hot for me. Also liked that I don’t have to log into an app every time I want to use my coffee mug.I wish they had an option other than metal, like ceramic. But if you can tolerate that then this one is the heated cup you have been looking for.

Nope
Loved this at first but now it shuts off all the time, even after I just turn it on. Would never buy again.
