This is a fantastic piece of kit for the price it’s ideal for home use and can be used from a standard 13a plug I’ve used it on cast iron and mild steel so far with good results

Product was good but I had to return it .

The first thing I did when I received the welder was check out the fuse in the plug as other reviews have noted it is an issue. This one had a fuse that said it was a BS1362 30 amp which doesn’t actually exist so is fake . 1362 fuses only go up to 13 amp . I simply replaced it with a real 13 amp fuse , this is the only reason I didn’t give it full five stars . I imagine if you are using high amps for long periods you could blow the fuse unless you changed the plug and used an industrial plug socket arrangement for this purpose. A very capable little inverter welder for the cost and perfect for transporting around. The leads are an ok length and are in a tough rubber.I have run half a dozen 2.5mm rods when I wrote this review and it was easy enough to get a consistent arc going once struck . The fuse didn’t blow nor did the welder overheat. I noticed it has a 40% duty cycle on its high output = 4 minutes welding in every 10 minutes on high power. A good thing for hobbyists and those who use a welder for jobbing repairs and smaller projects.

I really like this. It's super easy to set up and put back away. It's extremely lightweight too. It's small size means it's easy to pack away, but don't let that fool you, it's pretty powerful! I've done some great welds with it so far, and I'm glad I spent my money on it. Totally worth it.

Short answer, Yes!I'm a van lifer, I needed to weld a few bits on the van so bought this in hope it would work with my 1000 watt Petrol generator. I was very hesitant, thinking I'm going to have to upgrade the generator. As I've tried boiling water with a standard house kettle and it shut my generator down.So... I plugged her in set up this little welder expecting it not to work. It actually worked great. Welded perfect, well... perfect for someone that is new to welding.I did a few tests first. Even grabbing my grinder to cut through the weld. And damn... it had full penetration and was a mission to cut through.If any of you, like me are hesitant to buy this cos you too only have a 1000 watt generator. Rest assured. It works!

I purchased this months ago and only recently used it for the first time. After 30 minutes of operation the earth lead melted and simply fell off. The seller only offered a one month window of return so I'm stuck with a piece of junk. Nor is this a true 250amp welder, compared to a friend's 180amp welder it doesn't come close to the same power, at most it's a 150amp machine. I should've known when I opened the box and saw the diameter of the thin leads.
