Well I suppose it worked
Not really a book, more of a pamphlet, which is read in about 20 minutes. However it is written by decent professionals, rather than quacks and it did answer some vital questions. It was so cheap, it has to be good value.

The Back Book: the Best Way to Deal with Back Pain; Get Back Active [Paperback]
An excellent booklet. It's short and to the point, and easy to understand. There's plenty of self-help advice. Also, it's nice to know 'back pain' is not life threatening ! My GP recommended this booklet which at £1.25 one can't complain.

There is absolutely no medical advice in this 21 pg pamphlet WHATSOEVER!!
I can't believe I paid money for this drivel. To summarise the content: pain is good for you; stop whinging and get back to your job; rest is your enemy. What an utter crock - if these authors are genuine doctors (which seems unlikely), they should be disbarred immediately. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Total bull! There is absolutely no medical advice in this 21 pg pamphlet WHATSOEVER!! From page 13: "If you are still off work after a month, you risk developing long-term problems. You could even lose your job. Long before you get to that stage you really need to face up to the problem" - Seriously, it actually says that! Let me guess - this leaflet was sponsored by the Tory benefit reforms...?!?! I have an actual diagnosed serious spinal condition, but it's ok, this so-called advice "should be suitable for anyone with back pain"! According to this pamphlet, there are two types of back-pain sufferers only: "Copers" and "Avoiders": "The coper deals with pain by getting on with life" "The avoider is frightened and worries about the future". Furthermore "back pain should not cripple you unless you let it" - Oh, bloody marvelous!!

Well, just about OK.
My GP recommended it. I'm sure the advice contained within is sound but don't buy it thinking you're going to get a weighty book with ground breaking, life changing and extensive information. It's little more than a leaflet really. Wouldn't want to pay any more than I did for it ... in fact it seems a trifle expensive taking the cost of postage into account.

A must for back pain sufferers
I was advised to read this following a long period of back pain after a car accident. It is a very simple read - more of a pamphlet then a book, but the messages were clear, positive and honest. Really made me feel more positive about my recovery.

Best advice
If you have back pain, the contents of this book is all you need to know. It gives the best advice, including when it might be appropriate to see a professional. In most cases, it isn't necessary, and following what's in the book will get you better.

Wish there were more.
Exactly as I had expected. I just wish there were more in stock at the price I paid! $0.01 seems like a scream until you realize you have to pay $7 for shipping of one tiny pamphlet!

Great help!
In my medical practice I was needing a good and simple handout for patients with back pain. This really helps with excellent illustrations and easy to read.

Pretty disappointed but as for reading it I will have ...
I would not call this a book, its a pamphlet more then a book. I was really shocked when i received it. Pretty disappointed but as for reading it I will have to let you know if that part was good or not. At the moment the disappointment was a let down when i was expecting a book with many pages not a pamphlet style.

Good resource, update would be good
Great book. Would like an updated one speaking more to the holistic reasons for back-neurological pain. Thanks truly. I now use this with YouTube video "(sic) explain pain in 5 minutes" for patient education pain purposes. Education being the beat therapy with exercise for relief (and NSAIDs for short term)
