Great drone with easy to use controller and app
So much fun to own and fly. Got this a couple months ago and now take it everywhere with me, so good for travel and exploring new places. Love all the different modes to help making capturing photos and videos super easy. Battery’s last around 35-40 mins and are quickly recharged.

The ultimate flying experience
This is my first ‘proper’ drone and I love it. It’s so easy to fly and has some superb, intelligent features. Stability in moderate winds is excellent. The camera quality is cinematic and having the spare batteries means never running out of flight time. I bought this to survey roofs without damaging the roofs or losing the drone and this works flawlessly. The camera images are exceptional and professional. I bought it for work and took it with me to a recent trip to Scotland. I had so much fun flying it across the Northern end of Loch Ness (nothing to report here) and the stunning Loch Lomond. The video sequences are superb. If you’re interested in serious drone flying then start with this and never look back.

Probably the best model ever from DJI
Probably the best DJI have ever made. Having been involved in flying drones for many years this is my 9th DJI drone. Camera quality is good and the drone itself holds position well in brisk winds where the mini series struggles.

Without further ado, I present......The DJI AIR 3S
What can I say? It's dji so its fabulous! The DJI Air 3S is an absolute triumph in the mid-range drone market, delivering a potent blend of performance, safety, and exceptional image quality that will impress both beginners and seasoned professionals alike. One of the standout features is its superb dual-camera system. The main camera, boasting a 1-inch 50MP CMOS sensor, captures breathtakingly detailed stills and stunning 4K video at up to 60fps. I really praise its improved low-light performance and the ability to pull incredible detail from shadows and highlights, thanks to its wide dynamic range. The addition of a 48MP telephoto lens provides fantastic versatility, allowing you to compress perspective for dramatic shots or safely capture distant subjects with its impressive zoom capabilities. Safety is paramount, and the Air 3S doesn't disappoint. The inclusion of a forward-facing LiDAR sensor significantly enhances obstacle avoidance, providing an extra layer of security, especially in challenging environments or low-light conditions. The upgraded ActiveTrack 360 intelligently follows subjects, offering more fluid and reliable tracking around obstacles. Flight performance is equally impressive. The extended battery life, offering up to 45 minutes of flight time, provides incredible convenience for longer shoots and multiple flights. Its robust build and strong wind resistance (up to 12 m/s) ensure stable and reliable flights even in less-than-ideal weather conditions. The O4 transmission system delivers a stable and clear 1080p/60fps live feed to the controller, with an impressive control range. Beyond its core features, the Air 3S offers a range of intelligent flight modes like Waypoint, QuickShots, and MasterShots, making it easy to capture cinematic footage with minimal effort. The inclusion of 42GB of internal storage is a thoughtful addition, providing ample space for your photos and videos, giving peace of mind when you forget an external memory card. While it sits above the sub-250g regulatory weight, the DJI Air 3S strikes an excellent balance between portability and professional-grade features. It's a versatile powerhouse that’s equally adept at capturing sweeping landscapes, detailed urban environments, and dynamic action shots. If you're serious about aerial photography and videography and want a drone that delivers exceptional results with ease of use, the DJI Air 3S is an outstanding choice and a worthy investment. As a foot note the bonus is that the Air 3S from January next year (2026) will be in the same category of 250g drones opening up new possibilities.

Quality build. Quality footage.
Stunning piece of kit. So intuitive. It's a big boy 767g with the battery in but this is a plus as wond that would make my Potensic Atom very unhappy doesn't bother the aair 3S. The controller screen is crystal clear and stuffed with options. Touch screen. If you're even considering getting the Air 3S, go for.it but get the Fly More Combo. Batteries charge individually so be aware of that. Get a 65W charger unit for the battery charger. Took it out for its first flight last night and loved it. The cost disappears as you realise the ease of use, the quality of the build and software and just what this unit is capable of. I have both a Flyer ID and Operator ID already. Go for it. You'll love it.

The best drone I have ever used
I use drones and cameras mostly for landscape photography and videos. This drone is objectively a better aircraft and photography tool than an Air 3 or 2S. The sensor, the dual lenses, improvements in flight stability and control, image quality and focusing options. But I'd suggest it isn't a typical upgrade route from an Air 2S or 3. A more sensible upgrade would be from the mini series or even to work alongside a mini 4 pro or 3 etc. Then you have the flexibility of the smaller drone and the better image quality and flight stability (esp in poor weather) of the 3S. As a photography tool it is outstanding. The images and videos are pin sharp and smooth. The new follow options look incredibly good although I've not used them yet. I'd strongly recommend this to anyone with a mini series looking to step up but make sure you have the credentials and space to fly it. If you have the Air 3 and are happy with it, I'd ot upgrade it if you REALLY wanted the slight improvements but you wouldn't be disappointed. It is, I think, the most drone you can get for the money.

Very Nice
I've had drones on and off ever since the polystyrene ones, and worked my way up to this one. It's a game changer lol. No more playing stuntman, this is too serious to for mucking about with. I'm very impressed with the drone and it's overall features so it's time to take a more gentlemanly approach to my drone habit. I find it very easy to fly, even with a wee bit of wind. The video quality is stunning compared to what I've had in the past, which in would expect on such a high quality drone. I like the auto return feature, very handy and also the tracking one. My mate's got two dogs and some tennis balls so I'm looking forward to the next fine day. It's a nippy little bigger so set yourself some limits in the app to avoid it going AWOL. The addition of a wide angle lens should make for some nice scenic shots. Accessories can be a bit expensive, hence four stars but I'm already eyeing up a Mini4 Pro with the RC2 plus a spare battery for the Air3 S. Please be aware that no charger is supllied which will add to the cost. Roll on the fine weather. Update: 22/06/25 Having now had more time with the Air 3s, I splashed out on a Mini 4 pro Flymore bundle and a couple of spare batteries for the Air 3s. I'm hooked, lol!

My first DJI “Air Serious” Drone
I owned the Mavic 3 Pro but found it too heavy for my travel needs, so I started looking for a lighter drone. The Mini 4 Pro wasn’t an option due to its poor performance in windy conditions. I also considered the Air 3, but it couldn’t match the Mavic 3 Pro’s video quality or its performance in extreme wind, and I wasn’t willing to compromise on either. When the Air 3S was released, I bought it right away after tracking leaks for weeks. My travel bag feels noticeably lighter, and while the video quality and flight stability in extreme wind don’t quite match the Mavic 3 Pro, it’s still impressive, with a resolution that’s close. One of my favorite features is the Smart Return to Home. It’s amazing how it can return to its launch point, even if it started from under a tree or out of a building window. My Mavic 3 Pro would always rise above the tree before descending, and I’d have to manually intervene to avoid crashes. The Air 3S maps the route, using the same path for the return trip instead of just going straight up and down. Another major plus is the ability to download files without turning the drone on. LiDAR may be a game changer for obstacle detection, especially at night but it doesn’t deliver a “wow”. It works, that’s it. The Mavic 3 Pro still has an edge with its adjustable aperture, which I miss—especially since changing ND filters mid-flight can be a bit of a hassle. However, considering the Air 3S is half the price, paying an extra £1400 for aperture control doesn’t seem worth it. Looking forward to seeing what the Mavic 4 brings next year!
