KEF Q6 Meta Center Channel (Black)

The KEF Q6 Meta delivers excellent clarity, especially for dialogue. The Uni‑Q driver with MAT makes voices sound clean and natural, and the wide dispersion means everyone on the couch hears the same detail. Build quality is solid, and the speaker feels premium. If you want a center/LCR that noticeably improves clarity and front‑stage presence, this is a great upgrade.

A solid, well build center speaker, but surprisingly less clear for dialogue compared to other similarly priced models from SVS or Monolith.

Amazing center channel. Compliments my Kef Q11 Meta Floor Speakers perfectly. Big upgrade from my 20 year old Polk R series center.

Phenomenal sound quality at this price point. Capable of competing against more expensive units and definitely an upgrade over my previous system.

Replaced a KEF T301c with the Q6 and the improvement was immediate. The Q6 sounds fuller and fills the room with clear, easy-to-understand dialogue, even at lower volumes. A significant upgrade over slim center channels.

I took away a star because of its size, which may not be fair. The sound was excellent, but the size (despite accurate dimensions in Specifications) was just too much for our living room. A bigger room might handle it just fine. I have on older R2 version of this new Q6 Center, smaller in size, and I just couldn't adapt to the Q6's definitely larger dimensions. Listening critically to the Q6 vs R2, I felt the R2 was slightly sharper, crisper, with better transient response. Frequency range didn't seem much different. The Q6 is significantly less expensive, so if you can handle the extra 2" or so in most dimensions, be confident you'll enjoy the sound. It has the "KEF sound", if there is such a thing, very neutral and accurate.

The kef Q6 meta and Q11 meta sounded good for about a week then I guess after break in they sounded like someone took out the tweeter mid and highs. They sound absolutely dull and lifeless with no highs. I have 2 Onkyo RZ50s and 2 Emotiva XPA 5s for a 5.2 setup in my living room and a 3.1 setup in my bedroom. At 1st I thought maybe something was wrong with my receiver so I did a factory reset no change then I ran dirac no change then I switched the receiver with the one in the living room did a factory reset no change in the kefs dull sound then ran dirac still no change. Spent time changing the crossovers put speakers to small to full range messed with the equalizer and still no change. Then I thought maybe it was the Amplifier so I switched the Amplifier with the one in the living room still no change. I did another factory reset on the receiver still no change then I ran dirac still no change in the bad sounding lifeless dull kefs. The amount of hours I put in retesting, resetting, switching out,calibrating was immense. I put the kefs in my junk room and reconnected my 15 year old def techs and all is good now again. Kef q11 meta is garbage and so is the Q6 meta center. Don't waste your money

This is and was the best upgrade centre I have got for my system. I took weeks of reviewing and understanding to chose this item. I bought in walnut, it’s perfect, the size is substantial, but I like that, it has weight, voice sound solid, planted and it has opened up the middle of my cinema system, it keeps up with my heavy hitting R700s, which surprised me a lot, it has a great bottom and top end roll off, The next step up is over £1,000 more with the R6 but if placed correctly, in testing online that is even negated, if you have side walls the cohesion and support given gives excessive value, up to the R in my view, this is by far the best value for money going. Best of all the your seating position does not matter, the spread of the speaker makes it perfect for small seating rooms or 2 floor level cinema rooms as its wide in direction, unlike a lot that are narrow and need great positioning. One recommendation from personal experience, add studio acoustic foam to the bottom of the speaker, it’s fairly cheap maybe £15-20 for 2, this isolates any vibration you may get resting on a surface, as the 4 small rubber points provided in the box are not really helpful, also allows you to raise the front 15-20 degrees if the speaker is facing forwards lower that your seating position etc. Can’t recommend this enough. I’ve had KEFs since I started out for one reason, they perform well in excess of their price point, the Meta will last me the next 10yrs again. To me this is a bargain.
