Natural gray coverage
Started using this mainly to cover grays in my beard, and I’m happy with the results. The medium brown shade looks natural and blends well — no weird tones or fake-looking color. It looks really dark on the first day, but it does a very slight fade into the perfect shade after one wash. Pros: - Easy to use, no mixing or mess - Color looks natural, not too dark or flat - Works on both beard and hair - Doesn’t have a strong chemical smell - Hair feels soft after, not dry or stiff - Didn’t stain my skin Overall, this is a solid option if you want simple, natural-looking gray coverage without the hassle of typical traditional box dye.

Excellent Company and Product
I’m a 63 y/o male who like many men whose hair went totally white at 62 y/o wasn’t happy considering, it just didn’t go with how I looked or felt. I decided I’d try a drug store brand hair dye. It was a complete disaster, it had a horrible ammonia smell, caused scalp and face burning, and redness. On top of that I ended up getting a migraine headache. So, that was that for the whole color idea. That was until I ran across a YouTube video with Weston Boucher making a very convincing argument for Simpler Color. Being a researcher, I investigated his claims emphasizing that this product was PPD-Free, and that they used TDS instead of PPD which was tolerated better by a significant percentage of people, along with ethanolamine which provides more natural results with less odor and dryness. No Parabens, which can cause allergenic effects such as skin irritation in many people. I figured that it was worth a try. So, in June 2024 I sent an email to the customer care team and within 30 minutes got a thorough response. I had lots of questions and ended up sending several emails before deciding to give them a try. I received my color box promptly even though it was delivered via USPS. I opened the package and noticed everything was in order with clear instructions and the opportunity to view them on U Tube. The contents of the box came with a color comb, gloves, alcohol pad, and gel packet to protect the skin if you got color on it. I applied the product, which as their name implies, was very simple to apply, using the nifty color comb made it a breeze. I noted that unlike the other color brand, there was no horrible smell, burning or redness and no migraine afterward. Once applying the color and noting the amazing results, I realized that this was very doable and since then I’ve been a loyal customer. Simpler Color is a serious company that holds up to the highest expectations one could ever expect, not just with the excellence of their products, but with the exceptional level of customer care and service. The representation of the product and concern they offer to their customers is phenomenal. I sincerely mean that, if there are ever any questions regarding their product, delivery or any other concerns or situations that may arise, dealing with their product, delivery support or anything else, you will not have to worry about it, because they will have you covered. I strongly recommend Simpler Color to anyone desiring a product that works without the ill affects you may experience with drug store brands, and who are ready to leave the white or gray hair behind. Now that Simpler Color has expanded to offer their products via Amazon, I can say that I’m thoroughly excited about that, since being an Amazon Prime member I received my order to my front door in two days; whereas using USPS it would always be a week or more.

WORSE THAN JUST FOR MEN
I've been greying for 15 years during which time I've used JustForMen 6-8 times whenever my vanity got the better of me. I remember the predictable results I received, wherein the grey was gone, and I accepted the irritation that came with each application as the price of admission. I struggled through and persevered each time, though my skin remained dry, scratchy, and flaky beneath the hair for as long as I wore the beard. Eventually I came to terms with aging and left it natural (and increasingly grey) whenever I grew it out; which in time I just stopped doing altogether. So, three weeks ago, when Instagram started showing me ads from Simpler which proclaimed "NO PPDs", I thought, "Surely that was the problem I was having with JFM right?!"; some kind of chemical irritation, there might yet be hope for me to grow out my beard without immediately adding 10 years to my physical appearance. "NO PPDs!" So, I eagerly ordered Medium Brown and tried a test patch behind my ear as suggested; three days later saw no reason not to go ahead and apply, expecting good results without the discomfort. What I wasn't counting on was an overall reaction to this product when applied in earnest far worse than I'd ever experienced with JFM, a reaction that would leave me painfully bloated, broken out in hives and a rash, burning like mad, and clawing at my face in an agonizing itch. THE PICTURES speak volumes ( l-r ) -Left: 6pm Saturday night, BEFORE -Middle: AFTER application, waiting the prescribed amount of time, then taking a shower, 7pm (Meh. I was disappointed with the coverage- nothing like what I saw in all the videos and testimonials I'd watched.) -Right: Around 1am that night, when I couldn't sleep and could bear the BURNING and ITCHING no longer, I shaved the whole beard off to find my face in this state; this was 7hrs before CVS opened Sunday morning so I could get some antihistamines (of which I had none on hand, and then came to offer no relief). Finally I took myself to local Urgent Care for a steroid shot and a week's worth of Prednisone. . -THIS VAIN ENDEAVOR WAS LOSE/ LOSE, even after Amazon refunded my purchase price, I was left with the other expenses (above), and I heard NOTHING back from Simpler after my attempt at contact (the only avenue I could find to get to them directly through Amazon was the Leave Seller Feedback page.) . Maybe I have sensitive skin, but this seems excessive. This beard colouring attempt was a disaster. BE CAREFUL or BEWARE .

Super easy, natural-looking results — total game changer
I honestly couldn’t be happier with this product. The application was incredibly simple and straightforward, even for someone who has never dyed their hair before. The instructions were clear, the kit had everything I needed, and the process was quick and mess-free. The color came out very natural-looking—not flat, fake, or overly dark—and blended seamlessly with my existing hair. It covered my grays completely while still looking subtle and realistic. I’ve had multiple people comment that my hair looks healthier and fuller, without realizing I dyed it. Another huge plus is that it didn’t irritate my scalp at all and had none of that strong, unpleasant chemical smell you get with other dyes. The results have lasted well, fading evenly over time rather than looking patchy. If you’re looking for an easy, reliable way to cover gray hair without the hassle or harsh results of traditional dyes, this is absolutely worth it. I’ll definitely be buying this again.

Good stuff
No mixing and pretty straightforward with no heavy chemicals and doesn’t dye your skin. Some reasons for the imperfect rating… The comb is not ideal, particularly for very short hair (2-5mm) with beard and head. The first 2 applications, I was getting mostly the white cream coming out, but third application the color and cream was coming out evenly. Another thing I noticed, it is “permanent” but faded slightly in my case. All that being said, I would buy again and 100% recommend this to anyone in spite of my 4 out of 5 stars.

Surprisingly Amazing for Women Too — My New Favorite Hair Color
I’m a female who’s been searching for an easy, effective gray-coverage solution, and this Simpler Hair Color Kit turned out to be exactly what I needed. Even though it’s marketed for men, the blond shade works beautifully — and it covered my grays in the front perfectly with such a natural look. The packaging truly impressed me. Everything arrives beautifully put together and neatly organized in a handy bag, which makes the whole experience feel premium and so convenient. I especially love the no-mix design — it keeps things simple, clean, and stress-free. Just apply and you’re good to go. The included brush is another huge plus. It makes application an absolute breeze, allowing me to get precise, even coverage without any mess. Combined with the gentle, hypoallergenic, no-PPD formula, it all just works flawlessly. My hair looks fabulous, the gray coverage is seamless, and the entire process couldn’t be easier. For anyone wanting natural-looking results without the fuss — even women — this kit is a little powerhouse!

Love Love Love!
I recently tried the Simpler Hair Color for Men Kit (Medium Brown) and I’m very impressed. If you’re looking for an easy, effective way to cover gray in both hair and beard, this product truly delivers. What I Loved • Excellent Gray Coverage: It completely covered my stubborn grays evenly and naturally. No patchiness, no weird tones—just a solid, natural medium brown that blends well. • Gentler Formula: It’s ammonia-free and uses TDS rather than the harsher PPD you see in many dyes. There’s also a thoughtful mix of conditioning agents (aloe, coconut oil, jojoba esters) so my hair felt soft, not dry. • No Mess, No Fuss: The applicator brush/comb makes it easy to apply; no need to mix multiple bottles, no drips everywhere. Builds up nicely, even in the beard, which often is harder to cover cleanly. • Long-Lasting: The color holds up well between washes, and even after a few washes my beard still looked much more even in tone. Fade seems fairly minimal. • Good Value: One can gives enough product for multiple uses. If you don’t have a very dense beard or super long hair, one kit lasts a while. Minor Things to Know • Skin Sensitivity: Even though it’s gentler, you should still do a patch test. My skin held up fine, but everyone’s different. • Application Time: You’ll need about 20 minutes, and it helps to keep everything clean (wiping up any spots) so the result stays neat. ⸻ Final Thoughts Altogether, this is one of the better at-home coloring kits for men I’ve used. It balances strength (actual gray coverage) with gentleness, and the ease of use is a big plus. If you want something that looks natural, doesn’t ruin your beard or hair, and is relatively low-hassle, I’d definitely recommend Simpler Hair Color Medium Brown.

Horrible Design
UPDATE: after my initial one star review the company reached out to me and refunded my money. They said they feel I got a defective can. That impressed me. So I went ahead and purchased this again. And sure enough this second can worked just like in the videos, dispensed an equal amount of both color and white foam. Though from reading other reviews, it appears they have a lot of defective cans go out the door. The reason for only three stars after the second can is that, even when it works, it’s not a very long lasting color. Little over a week and the color is already fading. I will get multiple applications out of this new can now that it’s dispensing correctly. But I’m not sure I like how frequently I have to use it. My hair and beard color are constantly swinging from dark right after applying it to light right before I need to reapply it. So I can’t really maintain a consistent color for any length of time. I’m using the dark brown color and my hair and beard both are very grey. YMMV Original review follows: Does not work!!! Read my other reviews. I mostly give 5 stars. Or 2's or 3's if I am dissatisfied. To get a one star review from me you have to be a borderline scam. And THAT is precisely what I am saying about this non-refundable product. Dispenser only dispenses white foam despite "firmly pressing" as shown in instructions. After about half the bottle is wasted, you will eventually get some tint as well. But not enough to activate the product. Now, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking the same thing I was thinking before I bought it, "well....you're just not doing it right". Trust me.....there is no "right way". I don't care how "firmly" you press that button - or if you shake it - or what angle you hold it - it does not dispense color until several seconds of spewing out tons of nothing but white foam. There's no trick. It just plum doesn't work. The only "trick" is the promotional videos tricking you into thinking it actually works. It doesn't It was only after dumping about 3/4 of the white foam in the trash that I was able to get a 50/50 mix as shown in the instructions. Which did work for coloring my hair and beard. But basically - you are paying four times the money for a one time use product. And time will tell how long that "one time" actually holds up. When it fades, I've got nothing left to back it up. Look, most men are capable enough to measure out equal amounts of two liquids and mix them together. Too bad they had to try and be "Simpler" and invent this non-functioning bottle that fails to do the one simple task it was designed to do. The product may very well be a good hair coloring agent (we'll see about that). But for the money you spend, to only get a single application is borderline criminal! If you ignore this review - I promise you WILL remember it after trying this product. And wish you would have heeded my warning: HIT THE BACK BUTTON NOW - BEFORE ITS TOO LATE
