Mario Kart 64 (N64)

Came as described. Fantastic game. Had a couple of questions which were answered really quickly great service, love Mario Kart happy days!!

Item works just fine for an old game which was a gift for my brother... I think all these old consoles are in high demand again.. great quick reliable service

No Star review here, as it was delivered broken, I bought it for my sons birthday as I grew up playing this game, but because I bought it over 30 days ago and only just gave it to my son and he was gutted when it didn’t work, they won’t refund… don’t bother with this seller, period.

I remember clearly the original Super Mario Kart arriving on the Super Nintendo and buying it. The steering was terrible, the pixelated graphics - although cutting-edge - were pretty blurry and the AI of the Computer Controlled Opponents definitely had the advantage, but it was fantastic fun. Even the amusement-arcade-style music was punchy and gave each race a light, airy feel. What I liked most about Super Mario Kart was the opportunities to be utterly sly and ruthless. A well-timed, sneaky red shell let loose before an all important ramp or turn could ruin anyone's chances for victory. Mario Kart 64 for the Nintendo 64 console was an all-around improvement on the SNES original. Better graphics, better steering, handling and controls, much-the-same themed music and race tracks made this game another Nintendo home run and an instant classic. Firstly, the N64, being a 64-bit graphics machine was technically superior to Sony's Playstation, a 32-bit console, but by using different hardware and an entirely different processor Sony managed to convincingly give the impression it's machine was as capable graphically. In fact, originally, Nintendo and Sony agreed to team up and produce a home console for the mass market. But some differing ideas culminated in Sony going their own way. Ironically, Sony fared better in the long run with the Playstation. However, games like Mario Kart 64, Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, Mario World 64 and Goldeneye provided home gamers with well-produced, well-thought-out games with huge appeal for much the same audience as Sony catered for. Mario Kart 64 was excellent as a one-player, two-player, three-player and even four players onscreen, racing against each other, or thrashing each other in the arenas in-game. (I have to mention, the upgraded expansion pak from the "stock" pak that shipped with every N64 did improve all N64 games, speed-wise and was essential in order to play a few titles, such as Majora's Mask.) That said, at full throttle, in the heat of the moment Mario Kart 64 had gamers of all ages and ability on the edge of their seat frequently. A second-hand Nintendo 64 these days isn't hard to find in good working condition and won't cost much. One thing to be aware of is because the cartridges now are so old and have been used countless times, a few tries is often needed to get a game loading. However, for "retro" gamers new to the N64, or "old-skool" gamers like myself, the Nintendo 64 can be so much fun. The N64 controller is a bit clunky and is unconventional in design, but once familiar with it, the controls feel like second nature. For a few quid, spare time and the will to upgrade to a 4-MB expansion pak, the N64 and Mario Kart 64 are well worth picking up. A memory pak to store game data, saves, etc is recommended. A rumble pak, too, improves the experience of playing. Four stars!

a bit more marked than i would have liked

This product is just the thing for me as i used to have it as a child so im very reminiscent of it, the posting was very fast and the product is in very good condition. If i had to recomend this to someone it would be mario fans or anyone because anyone can pick up and play it.

arrived as shown in image. there was save data on the cart but that's also fine. cart ran without having to clean it, and seems to be in good condition. sticker may be a replacement but that's also fine with me

Agréable et fructifiant

This game works absolutely perfectly and has a crisp (probably unoriginal but new) front label. I'm definitely glad I spent a little more to get a quality item that will last and is in excellent shape. Not a scratch or anything, it looks brand new. Thanks!
