This is my first time using a broth tablet and I am satisfied with what it has to offer. The tablets are individually wrapped so that the resealable pouch avoids moisture each time it is open and closed or if your hands might accidentally touch another tablet. The tablets dissolve easily in water, and I used two to start with my kimchi stew, and I think I can add one more tablet just as long as I take care not to add any extra sodium. The tablets smell slightly fishy but in a good way like dried anchovies and it tastes like so, too, but once you add other ingredients like kimchi, the base flavor is not noticeable if that was a concern. If anything, the tablets bring on a wonderful depth of umami flavor. I think these are very nice quality tablets for convenience, hygiene, and ease of use when you don't want to spend some nights simmering your own broths or crowding the pantry with cartons or jars of broth.

I was hoping to use these packets as a base for my soup noodles, but it didnt turn out as planned. I followed the instructions for use of one packet along with the recommended water amount, but found that the soup still lacked flavor even after adding salt to the broth. There is a small hint of seafood flavor and there is also a little kick of spice to it. I would recommend drinking this as a broth by itself because adding in noodles or anything else will only make this broth more bland.

I used to add many different ingredients to make soup, but this soup base includes everything I need in one tablet. Depending on how much broth I’m making, I usually add 1 or 2 tablets, and it’s so simple to use. It really makes Korean cooking much easier for me. I mainly use it for steamed eggs and soup dishes. The flavor is richer than I expected, and the seafood taste comes through nicely. It’s a great product for quick and authentic Korean flavors.
