FINALLY a Perfect NAS Solution for PLEX
I've been a heavy Plex user for almost ten years. Up until now I have put the server on a Windows PC with too many HD's. The constant updates, changes, and such that Microsoft does causes everything to reboot and restart far too often. I've been looking for a real solution for myself, about 8 people I share my libraries with, and about 12TB worth of movies, shows, music, etc.I noticed this NAS a few months ago and started some research and just kept coming back. For the money, you can't get the same performance and hardware/upgrades that this comes with. I upgraded the 8MB RAM to 32MB to be sure it would be quick enough for me. I bought 2x 16TB drives and kept 2x 8TB drives from my previous server.I am not a Linux user or know how to do alot of this type of stuff, but it took me about 2 hours to have the server completely setup and ready for media to be transferred. There is a YT Video out there about 18 minutes long and an English gentlemen walks you through most of it. It worked perfectly the first try out of the box and I started transferring the data.It took about 12-14 hours to transfer everything, but there wasn't one slip or hiccup or problem. Everything went perfectly and Plex immediately started updating everything and gave remote access without issue. The setup of the NAS is easy, the setup of Plex is easy, the Web app is incredibly fast and intuitive and the phone app is awesome and easy to use as well. I know these are relatively new to the market, but I can't wait to see what they bring out going forward.Amazing speed and I am very pleased to finally be done with a giant server PC and go to this nice compact box. Buy with confidence, you won't be disappointed!

When fully loaded it is very fast. Easy to setup, forget and enjoy.
I have this unit with 4x 28TB HDs, 2x 4Tb Kingston m.2 sticks as cache and 64Gb RAM connected directly to my router via the 10Gb port (which my router also has).Setup for non-technical guys like me was a breeze and this unit is blazing fast in RAID 10 - I'm using this to work directly with Final Cut Pro gigantic video files in 4K and also as a media server for my Zidoo 3000 Pro via wifi. Streaming full 4K DolbyVisionV10 content via wifi to the Zidoo is a breeze, the unit never breaks a sweat, no lag and the picture quality is stunning (I highly recommend the Zidoo if you have a calibrated OLED panel)Other devices capable of 6G wifi also benefit from the 10Gb port that never clogs or slows down no matter how much data you need to vacuum into your devices. It's quiet too, this is a million times better than just a SSD hooked up to your router. I left remote access off as don't need it. The OS inside this unit is Linux and the distro/interface is very simple, accessible via any browser pointed to its IP address.More nerdy technical users can dig in and enhance it with other OS like TruNAV but if you're like me and think it's a waste of time to keep rubbing bits and bytes in your brain, this unit is as close as plug-and-play as it gets. Recommended.

Replaced Synology with much better hardware and very decent software at a great price point
I had two Synology NAS units of different models and were looking for a couple of years to upgrade those due to their aging hardware. But getting the hardware specs I wanted was either impossible or ridiculously expensive. Who offers 1 Gbe ethernet these days when your disks can push twice as much? Along came UGREEN with great hardware specs at a great price point. Software is quite alright too. Jellybin server on Docker is choking when transcoding though, but hopefully that will be resolved in a near future. The file share functionality works great and the 10 Gbe connection between my desktop and this NAS makes it feel like disks are local.

UGREEN NAS replace my Synology 718+
Purchased as a replacement for a Synology 718+ I used until Mother Nature struck the Synology through the LAN connection with a thunder bolt. And yes, I now have 2.5 GB ethernet surge protectors. That experience caused me to research a replacement NAS. I chose the UGREEN DXP4800 Plus as a replacement. The UGREEN NAS was VERY easy to setup. Added four 8 TB Seagate IronWolf Pro drives in Raid 5, 32 GB Memory, and a 1 TB SSD for cache. Windows/web apps are easy to use and informative as is the Android app. I also purchased the UGREEN UPS with the NAS--it was plug and play also.I first used the Android App to configure storage and basic server configuration, then moved to the Windows app to setup users and rights. Data on iDrive previously backed up from Synology was restored from iDrive onto the UGREEN NAS. Integration with Windows 11 clients was clean and easy. I setup remote access but haven't tested that yet.I connected the UGREEN NAS directly to one of my TP-Link Deco nodes (which has a 2.5 GB port). I don't have stats to back this up, but it sure feels faster. The attributes that lead to this are: faster NAS CPU, 2.5 GB LAN connections on the NAS, very fast memory chips, and SSD Cache. Some have called out very unique NAS requirements that this UGREEN NAS doesn't support, but for my purposes (lots of Photography, accounting, and investments), this is a great solution I very much recommend.
