Far better than expected
Frankly, I was amazed by how nice this stick was. So much stuff you buy online is junk. This is sturdy, easy to adjust and appears to be of high quality.

Short
This stick is a good quality, and does adjust but really isn’t suitable for anyone over 5 feet tall. It’s definitely easy to assemble and transport, but needs to be longer.

I use it for a walking stick when fly fishing. Other than thatdon't waste your money.

Sturdy & Sturdy…
This monopod is surprisingly strong and sturdy for the price, performing as well as several other expensive monopods I’ve used in the past. In full extension it easily held the weight of my hefty .338 Lapua mag with very little wobble and it locked into the hight I set without slipping or becoming shorter over time like others I have used.I also used it with my digital SLR and its long and heavy telephoto lens and again proved to provide a solid platform for shooting sharp high resolution telephoto images. It did equally well in the soft dirt of the lacrosse field or the concrete of the parking lot.If there are any minor shortcomings (but not worth the deduction of a star) is that it might be a little on the short (pardon the pun) side for some people and another 8 to 12 inches could be nice. However, the laws of physics dictate that the longer something becomes the less stable it will be, so the taller the monopod becomes the more wobble you will experience. At the same time, as I am constantly reminding my kids, one can always make something longer shorter, but its impossible to make something shorter longer, so the option of little additional length might be worth the trade off but YMMV. I feel this is user specific and for my uses, the height works fine, also I usually do most of my shooting (both ballistic and photographic) from a sitting or kneeling position and its shortest length is perfect for those uses.Another minor nitpick issue worth mentioning, it would be nice if the interior of the V pocket were lined with some softer material other than the hard plastic that it is. I quickly fixed this by adding some inexpensive adhesive felt, which I would’ve added anyway. Again this is a user specific issue as I like to protect my expensive telephoto lenses like a newborn baby.Overall I am quite happy with this product and recommend it for either of the uses I’ve mentioned above.

Almost Perfect
This stick would be perfect if it were taller. It has so much going for it, but fails in the "most important feature" category.A shooting stick acts to help steady your gun. For most shooters, the standing shot is very common. In theory, you would rest the gun barrel in the slotted V, shoulder the weapon, sight, and shoot. The stick would help steady all movement, allowing the shooter to place the sights on the target with a minimum of movement up, right left, and down, improving accuracy. This shooting stick extends to about 50 inches. If you are taller than 50 inches, and you want to use the stick to shoot standing, you literally need to bend over to use the stick, or place some height extender beneath the rubber foot of the stick. It is not the worst thing in the world, but why not make the stick long enough for a 6 foot man to shoot standing? It is almost long enough for that! One more segment in the legs perhaps?True, the stick is great for shooting sitting and adjusts well for that. The construction of the device is excellent. Sturdy. Easy to operate. Really nice rubber padding for barrel contact. The rubber foot swivels to accommodate irregular terrain. It is obvious that a lot of thought went into making it. It is very secure when set and I do not believe that it would move at all, even with higher caliber discharges.Construction: Excellent Everything is secure and tight in fit and finishAppearance: Excellent The black coating is uniform and the foam grip is attractive and pleasant to touchOperation: Excellent The telescoping legs move well, lock securely, and re-adjust very cleanly.A parting thought ... This would be a very useful tool for a younger shorter shooter, safely learning the sport. It would be equally useful for a BB or pellet rifle which would work well with young shooter programs.I was looking at the stick as I wrote this review, and it occurred to me that this stick would ALSO make a superior walking stick. Pretty ideal height for that. And the foam grip is in the right place.AND, (he said smiling), if you ever were injured and needed a crutch, the top V of the stick would fit under your arm well to assist in that capacity! While it likely isn't made for either of those purposes, it is worth noting that it definitely would work for either.

Faulty Locking Devise
Item arrived on time. The cardboard packing looked as if it had been frequently opened and resealed. The wrapping paper around the support stick, again looked well used, but the stand appeared to be in good condition. The telescopic action would pullout to the required length as advertised, but the locking nuts for the two sections were both completely solid. No amount of hand pressure could move them in any direction and using any form of pliers, or mole grips would certainly damage the plastic nuts. I suspect this stand has been rejected by previous buyers for the same reason I'm returning it. Hence the battered packaging. I'm now waiting for the item to be collected.

Far too short - Adaptable with a bit of cunning
I only wish I'd taken a deeper look at the existing reviews before purchasing.According to the product info (information on one of the images) it states that for someone of my height (181cm, 5ft 11in) then the height can be adjusted to 125cm, & suggests it's supposed full height of 135cm for much taller people. Without checking this measurement, I purchased the stick in the belief that it would suit my needs.Well, the maximum extension puts the base of the rest at 122cm, which falls about 12in (30cm) of where I feel the rest should be for me. Where it is, it leaves me Hunching over in an uncomfortable & unstable position, making it pretty useless when it is supposed to aid accuracy. Therefore this image & information is grossly misleading (misrepresentation even?).On the plus side, it's fairly sturdy. So may suit someone of a smaller size (say 165cm, 5ft 5in). But for anyone of my size forget it.UPDATEAt the base the rubber foot is a sleeve covering a plastic ball that screws into the bottom section of the shaft. So I took a length of 18mm OD tubing I had lying around, sanded the plastic ball until it was a very snug fit in the tube (hammered home), sanded the lip, cut the tube to length (I've left it a bit long for the moment, better to be looking at it than for it), used a Stanley blade on the rubber foot to ease the entrance so that it's a snug fit over the tube, & voila, I have a detachable extension tube. Once I've adjusted for personal length, I'll either sand the shine off of the tube & paint it black or wrap it.Picture of my extension tube for reference.
