I like the variety of sizes and quality is good as long as you are careful when pulling the zippers. As for compression--yes, it works, but the fact that the center bulges much more than the edges, it seems to work better when uncompressed if you've got room for it.

I travel a lot and as part of travelling I've learned that packing cubes are an essential part of ensuring that you're well organized while you're away from home. Now, i've gone through the process of purchasing probably 5 or 6 sets of different packing cubes, and until now each of them has had one issue when you have started emptying and past the halfway point it ends up that you have to roll them up to make them better organized or to roll up your laundry to take home into them. I'm new to compression cubes, and one of the things that i really loved about them is not only did they expand to take everything that you want, but they also compress so that when you have something that is half full it can shrink to the size of what you have left and maintain them neatly and securely. This set provides you with everything that you would need for a 7 day vacation for a getaway for even longer than that and putting it all into a 19 inch luggage carryon. I know cause I just did it on the Carnival Paradise. Normally I rely on rolling my clothes to make sure that I have packing cubes well fit with everything that I need. In the case of using these, all i had to do was slide my shirts into the cube exactly like I would fold them, and then shrink them down so that I could separate my different pieces of clothing in a very organized way. The smallest cubes went for underwear, ties and shorts (these mostly stayed compressed), the medium size cubes for 7 collared shirts, and 7 t-shirts. The largest cubes were specific to 4 long pants, 3 casual slacks, and 4 dress shirts. I absolutely loved being able to compress the down, to ensure that everything stayed neat, and when I was on the ship, all I needed to do was fold the top half of the cover into itself, and I could see everything that I needed to get for that night. I will be buying another set to better match my luggage, but the only concern that I have is what am I now going to do with my 27in luggage.
