This 14” cover/cushion shipped promptly. It is in two pieces: 1 - black cover, and 1 - cushion. The black cover seems well made. The cushion has a gray nonskid side. It fit good on the stool but there is not a lot of cushioning.

The appearance and finished cover is very nice. However, the most important element is the foam for the tush! I am not sure how they can call it memory foam when it is so thin.....there is very little available to "bounce" back. It's a good thing I purchased two covers (one would have been for another stool) because I doubled them up to get a reasonable thickness on the one stool.

I returned this product. However, I will say that if you have a bar stool and are just looking for a cover, it would probably work really well. I was looking for something squishy for my wooden desk chair, and when sitting on this I couldn't even tell I was sitting on a cushion. I just felt the hard wood of the chair. I'm also not heavy - I'm 130 lbs. If you're buying it for decor, it looks really nice and is well made. If you're buying it for squish, keep looking.

Other reviews are right: this foam is waaay too thin. At least under my weight (170 lbs, 6' 1") the memory foam collapses so completely that I might as well be sitting right on my hard stool (I sit at the edge of the stool on my "sit bones" for posture).BUT -- at one point the "customers also bought" listed the foam pad  FoamRush 2"x12"x12"  which I then bought, and it's *perfect* -- regular foam (not memory foam) so it doesn't collapse as much and will shape to your butt, and I can sit all day. So swap out the foam, or if you want super-duper-padding, keep them *both* in -- I keep the traditional foam on top and the memory foam below (memory foam collapses less when it's on the bottom) -- which there's just enough space for as long as the top of your stool is thin. (Also if you're buying multiple, you can save money by buying the 4" thick pads for almost the same price, and slicing them in half with something as simple as a chef's knife, which is actually what I did -- because turns out you definitely cannot fit the 4" thickness in this cover!)One final note: I also bought the equivalent  B074V56DD6 Baibu stool cover  which is regular foam and not memory foam. However its foam is the same height and seems to collapse almost as much, so wasn't really a meaningful improvement. (Also its foam is not removable, like this one is.) Aesthetically and texture-wise they're basically identical except the Baibu has the 4 "tufting buttons" on top, which to me looks weird on something synthetic. So I like this Shinwa more because it doesn't have the buttons and the foam is removable so you have more options for customizing.

Working remotely my sewing desk & chair now also serve as my daytime office.The chair was comfortable for sewing use but daily it became increasingly apparent I needed more comfort. I searched Amazon and found several seat cushions, this had a comfort foam insert, breathable cover, and non slip insert so I ordered it!Just arrived today, easy to slip on and I am sitting on it as I type this review, so far so good and very pleased!8/27 update: still using the chair on a daily basis and it remains comfortable!

I bought this for a metal stool that needed padding but when I got this product....the padding is just too thin... feelers the same with or without the memory foam... padding is only 1” high (see photo of digital caliper measurement).... needless to say.... even with the padding.. feels like no padding at all....memory is way too thin.... given the high rating by others, I expected it to be better than what it was.... so returning and getting a refund.

I got these for our standard school style stools - metal w/ light board seat. I love the stool style, but... not so comfortable for any length of time. These are at our dining/work table, so... we needed a fix. These covers are great looking, super durable and well-made. I just washed and dried them in the machine and they came out fantastic. Good as new. These will never wear out, I swear. We have black ones. They add an elegance to the stools and they look more refined. Definitely purchase if you're even thinking about it. Solid buy.

I'd been teaching from a stool for months and it was uncomfortable at best. It was passed already, but I figured getting something new would help.The Pros:It's thicker than the original padding (which I kept on)The sleeve is large enough to top my original padding which was about 1" thickIt looks niceIt pretty much stays in placeThe Cons:It's not very dense at all. If I was using it all by itself, I'm pretty sure it would be only barely better than the previous pad - this is the point though. This is something I guess in regular times, I'd likely not buy without physically testing out.Unless you are looking for low-mid density padding, I wouldn't recommend.
