Professional feel for your phone camera, brilliant to use
I’ve been using the SnapGrip for a few weeks and it genuinely changes how I take photos. The grip feels natural in your hand and gives the phone the weight and balance of a camera. The shutter button is responsive, the magnetic attachment holds firmly, and I like that it can stand upright for group shots or FaceTime. The built-in battery gives my phone a helpful boost when I’m out. It looks clean and minimal, not bulky, and fits easily into a pocket or small bag. If you take a lot of pictures, travel, or just want more control when shooting, this makes a big difference. It feels like a thoughtful accessory designed by people who actually use their phones for photography.

I Thought This Was the Dumbest Accessory Ever… Until I Actually Used It
I’ll admit it—I always thought the ShiftCam SnapGrip was one of the dumbest accessories ever made. I’ve been shooting professionally for decades, using everything from DSLRs to cinema cameras, and I figured a “phone grip” was something for influencers, not working pros. Then reality hit me: on any given shoot—whether it’s a product session, a behind-the-scenes clip, or a quick podcast promo—about 20% of my content happens on my phone, often when I only have five minutes to grab a shot before the light changes or a guest walks in. So I borrowed a friend’s SnapGrip to see what the hype was about. Well, color me stupid—this thing rocks. The magnetic mount snaps on perfectly, the grip feels balanced and secure, and the built-in shutter button gives me proper camera-style control. It even doubles as a wireless charger and stand. After years of lugging gear, this little thing made my iPhone feel like a legit compact camera. If you shoot content for clients or social, or just want to level up your phone work—get one. I’m now actively pushing more iPhone use in my workflow because the quality is that good, and the SnapGrip makes it effortless. Bottom line: Don’t knock it till you try it—this accessory turns your phone into a pro-ready shooting tool.

A little slow to wake, but works perfectly if slight shutter delay is ok with you.
It does take a second to connect when you wake it up and there is a slight delay to the shutter when the button is pressed. If you aren’t taking time sensitive / action shots it works great. Definitely a great grip for the phone and holds securely.

Smaller than original and half the price, no case when you order just the handle
I am excited about the revised version which gets rid of that cheap hinge and opens the door for quick mounting with magsafe magnets. They also supply the magnets to use with other phones but ideally you are getting this for the iphone with magsafe charging option as this has a built in battery. The LEDs on the side are well built and clearly state the remaining battery power, magsafe actively charging and BT connection. The magnetic pull is pretty solid just make sure you are using a reliable case with magnetic ring built in. I wouldn’t suggest using case-less as accidents happen and this is only being held on by magnets. This new version has some of the same build quality of the original. Again, it doesnt scream quality in hand with the plastic feel of that grip handle, why not make it have more grip with a rubber feel. The buttons feel plastically as well when pushed. The look of it is nice and it works very well with the MAX/PLUS 6.7 series phones. It felt comfortable in hand in both portrait and landscape mode with the 6.7. In portrait viewing with the 6.1 and 6.7, it feels very comfortable in hand and easy to use. In landscape mode, i found it comfortable to use with the 6.7 but not with the 6.1 inch phone as much. With 6.1 inch phone more of the handle hangs off the end of the phone and with the 6.7 it lines up exactly with phone so you are holding both the handle and phone together and feels more secure and comfortable. The button is more in an uncomfortable position and not easily aligned under your index finger do to the fact of the overall smaller footprint. You really have to curl up your index finger to get it aligned with button instead of it being in a more natural position, more pronounced to have to do that with the 6.1 vs 6.7 phone size. Didn’t notice too much of a delay from when shutter button was pressed and when phone registered it. The magnetic charging worked well and definitely another plus with those long day adventures. I love the smaller footprint over the first generation, makes it more mobile friendly and something you can actually see taking with you for the day. The magsafe option for quick mounting and dismounting is perfect along with the innovative thoughts they made with adding additional magnetic accessories to it. Debatable purchase with iPhone 6.1 but more of a win with 6.7 and in this economy who can not love that the revised version is around half the cost of the first version. The price point of it now is more acceptable to what you receive. I definitely would of appreciated the carry case when you just order the handle … seriously you only provide that when you order the bundle…??? The handle quality could definitely offer more grip which would in turn feel more premium. As well as the buttons not being so tinny and plastically when pressed. For $70 you have to up the premium a little more or at least offer the case. Other than those shortcomings they have a done a nice job with this revised version. ** Your 6.7 phone will stand up with this handle attached but the 6.1 size will not .. will fall forward. ** Sorry also seems to be only right hand compatible ** 3200mAH battery

Solid, very easy to use!
Works as described. Very comfortable to use and it feels like you’re holding an actual camera. Bluetooth sync was easy and the ability to turn the charging feature on or off is a benefit. I use a “oh-snap” phone grip and the mag lock on this product holds the phone perfectly, even through the phone case. 👌🏾

Defective Product from ShiftCam
This is a defective product. It works as intended after it is paired with an iPhone, but only for a few minutes. However, every few minutes it looses its blue tooth connection to the iPhone. In order to re-establish the connection I had to (1) reset the SnapGrip, (2) "Forget" it in iPhone blue tooth settings and (3) pair it again. This process has to be repeated every 5-10 minutes. Obviously this fix makes no sense if you are in the process of taking pictures or videos. ShiftCam customer service was unable to provide me with any other solutions and advised me their team is already is aware of the problem is currently working closely with Apple to find a permanent fix. In the meantime, it continues to distribute this product. Until they find a permanent fix with Apple (assuming they do in the near future), I would not recommend this this product to any iPhone user..

Has some flaws
I purchased this to shoot social media photography on location at a film shoot that lasted about 10 hours daily for 6 days. In the past, my iPhone (iPhone 15 Pro Max, so not an old phone) needed to be recharged mid-day and this seemed like a good option to avoid that, and had the added benefit of a more convenient grip and shutter button. Here are my thoughts- The Battery ☹︎ The battery did not have enough charging capacity. It helped a little, but I still had to recharge the phone before the shooting day ended. I have used other battery backs in the past that have been much more effective, eliminating the need for a mid-day recharge. The Magnetic Connector ☺︎ I wasn't sure if this would be sturdy enough to stay connected, but it definitely was. It stayed connected through rotation, being held sideways, etc. For me it functioned very well. The Grip ☺︎ I really appreciated the grip- it made it easier to hold the phone and get shots from different positions. This was the best thing about the SnapGrip. The Shutter Button ☹︎ ☹︎ ☹︎ Ugh- I had very high hopes for this (it could have been SO great) but it ended up being unusable for me. It was sticky, so it either had to be pressed very hard, or be pressed multiple times (3 or 4) to get it to work. I was taking action shots of one-off demonstrations where I needed to photograph each step, so this alone made the shutter button virtually unusable. There was also a slight lag between the button press and the actual photo- again, this can't work for action shots. And finally, this is nit-picky but the button made a small sound when pressed and for my situation that was problematic. It was by no means loud, but was audible in the room, and since I happened to be in a situation where silence is essential, that didn't work. I will say though, that I liked the grip enough that I kept using the SnapGrip throughout the 6 day shoot since I already had it. But was it worth the money for the grip alone? Definitely not.

Incredible fit and compatibility with the Google Pixel Pro 10XL
Works perfectly with my Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. Pairing was seamless. Just put the SnapGrip into pairing mode along with my phone and was ready to take some photos. I tried the KraftGeek and found it didn't keep the phone from swinging/moving around on the magnet... there were no traction pads. Also, there is the vertical magnet facing towards the circle of magnet on the SnapGrip in addition to the outside traction pad. The KraftGeek traction pads (near the edge and not along the magnet ring as with the SnapGrip) had a gap between the phone and the grip where the traction pads were. I liked it for the price and decided to try the SnapGrip as a last resort, which was pricier, but decided to give it a try since having this attachment style is important to me. If the description is hard to follow, check some photos and that may help put things into a little more prespective. The build quality is solid and the packaging/presentation was nice. Hopefully this hold up with time. Regarding my application use. I'm married and a father with three children. My children are pre-teen with lots of school events and extra-curricular activities. I found it a challenge while at one of my children's cross country runs to keep the phone stable and press the side control buttons to take photos while keep the camara on my intended target. The SnapGrip from a form-factor perspective in terms of tactile function with my fingers leaves it simple for me to find the camera trigger with my hand while focusing on the picture screen opposed to where my hand is at on the phone and trying to keep a secure picuture... there's a lot going on lol. The grip makes it easy for me to point and shoot. Awesome addition for me being able to focus on descent family photos. I found no issues in terms of fitment on my Pixel Pro 10XL. It is also portable and easy to care in a compact satchel while I have it stored before use. I definitely recommend the ShiftCam SnapGrip for parents on the move trying to capture life's precious moments...

Don’t by cheap copies
Works very well. First bought a cheaper copy. Same grip but the bluetouth connection is far better on thisone.

Go grab that shot!

It’s well made a useful item if you are into photography
It’s a well made product and the only one you can use on an iPhone 16 pro and pro max. The mag grip is strong on a decent mag case. Bluetooth connects fast and is stable . I’ve shot both in portrait and landscape , much easier with the grip fitted. Annoyingly if you reconnect the grip it won’t connect Bluetooth you have to forget , turn off and on BT and try again. It’s worth the money, no shutter lag and no more dropping the phone . Great product for me as a photographer.
