Biggest Benefit - Simplifies Cutting and Stripping of Romex Jacket
The media could not be loaded. PROS:Klein is considered a trusted maker of high quality electrical tools and is one of the top brands used by professionals. This one tool takes the place of a knife, a wire stripper, wire cutters, and needle nose pliers (for bending wire). It's small enough to carry in your pocket. It's faster than using multiple tools to prepare Romex, once you get the hang of it.It's safer than using a knife to slice the Romex PVC jacket down the middle. The length of the tool is designed to match the length of jacket you'll want to strip for the wires to go into a typical junction box.Cons:The tool works best with 14-gauge Romex. I tried it on 12-gauge and had a hard time getting the conductors stripped without them being nicked by the stripping blades. It's sometimes difficult for the tool to cut the Romex jacket and paper wrapping once it's been separated from the conductors. I'll need to practice that more.I'm not an electrician, but a homeowner who occasionally does projects involving 120 VAC wiring.I wish I had discovered this tool 20 years ago (if it existed). In the past I've always used an X-Acto knife to slice the Romex jacket down the middle where the ground wire is, so that I wouldn't damage the hot and neutral conductors. It always seemed a bit dangerous and I worried about the knife slipping. This tool slices the jacket properly and fairly easily, once it's correctly positioned on the end of the Romex. It's a great and inexpensive tool for occasional use, but I have to wonder how long the cutting surfaces will last if used by a professional. Overall, I'm happy I found it.

Easy to use
Recently purchased a house and doing some renovations prior to move in. I've had to replace a few outlets and installed new outlets, switches, etc. This product is great for stripping the wire sizes i've used, and for making hooks. I have not been very successful with the jacket stripping, despite watching several videos on how to do it easily. However, this is a great tool and easy to use for me. Would recommend.

Nice multi-functional tool - Simple but works
I just completed a DIY install of recessed lights. I notices during the project I was grabbing this tool alot to slice romex cover, cut it off and strip the wires. Even though I had "better" tools in the toolbox. I would definitely recommend for stripping Romex 12 or 14. It cuts like a warm knife in butter. I only gave it a 4star because it can clumsy if you are trying to work fast and use all the functions.

If you’re doing what you’re reading in a house or any kind of repairs, it’s a must have
First, like to say when you’re working with electrical while you’re doing a house or any kind of repairs, multiple tools will be needed to deal with this one tool does. It strips the outer PVC coating neatly at precisely then it removes the other coding protecting the copper wire after using this tool multiple times it is a must have one little tool in your pocket you will have less tool to carry and a fixture in the ceiling and wire an outlet boxes anything or is a cutter to cut the wire to the length necessary then this tool does the rest and it doesn’t neatly I wish I had this tool years back when I was finishing basement so I definitely recommend this to A1.

Not worth the price.
Not really worth the cost but i already bought it so I'll use it sometimes. An automatic wire stripper is far better at removing the jacket, i assumed this would be easier. It strips 14 and 12awg wire pretty good, and it makes great loops. It kinda sucks at stripping the jacket and it'll cut into the wire itself sometimes if you're not perfect with it. Overall, not worth it imo.

Best Specialty Tool Ever!
This thing was a knuckle saver and time saver, and has also kept me from cutting myself and wires multiple times! Took just a bit of doing it to get the hang of it but by the third receptacle installation I had it down. True time saver and also protects you from nicking a wire with the usual razor knife you would use. One thing I figured out is that when doing the initial opening of the Romex, you can push the tool all the way into the receptacle box and thus open up the Romex further in which then helps with folding everything into place. Definitely money well spent.
