This purchase meant I almost eliminated my use of bottled water whilst in India - something importnat to me.I filtered the tap water in my homestay and it tasted fine and was clear and I had no stomach issues whatsoever.It is worth noting that it does take some brute force to push the internal fiter down to purify the water but I got used to that.Expensive but I thought it was a great purchase.

It does exactly what it's supposed to do. I've used it now on half a dozen camping trips where I know that there's a stream or brook nearby. I've been able to carry two extra water bottles that I leave empty until I get to camp. This saves me carrying excess weight, I just use the Grayl to filter water on site then pour into my empty wayer bottles. I'm also keeping a note of how many times it's been used so avoiding it not working at the end of the filter's life.

Make sure you don’t get deli belly!!!Take this everywhere.A bit bulky. So tried the ultra press, but found that it leaked.So sticking to this one.

Filtered everything and came back from an Indian and Bangladesh experience with no side effects

Couple of scratches, no pull release on the filter and honestly looks like the filters been used as it's extremely difficult to filter even tap water. With other reviews sharing the same problems, the general build quality (not bad but not $100 worth either) and the fact it becomes completely useless as a standard waterbottle if you decide to not use the filter, it's going straight in the bin.
