Quicksilver (Fae & Alchemy, 1)

Quicksilver completely lived up to the hype for me. From the very first chapters, I was absolutely captivated by this world. This was one of those books that completely consumed me. I couldn’t put it down, found myself reading late into the night, and thought about it whenever I wasn’t reading. I actually finished this on my birthday on the way to a baseball game. I refused to put the book down. 😂 Saeris quickly became one of my favorite FMCs. She’s fierce, resilient, and so easy to root for. And Kingfisher completely stole my heart. Anthony Palmini completely kills it with the narration! The chemistry, banter, and slow-building relationship had me completely obsessed. The world-building felt immersive without ever slowing the story down, and every new revelation pulled me in deeper. I fell in love with these characters and their world. Then came that ending… I was absolutely blown away. It left me desperate for the next book and cemented Quicksilver as one of my favorite reads of the year. If you’re looking for a romantasy that’s addictive, emotional, and impossible to put down, this absolutely deserves all the hype!!!

4.5⭐️ I really had fun diving into this world! The world building was great and I love the characters. The romance seemed rushed and forced in the very beginning but eased up as the book went on and was more believable. I absolutely loved the fun twists and turns and the ending was epic! I’ll be starting Brimstone immediately!

I am completely in love with this book. Literally everything about it worked for me—the world, the characters, the spice, and the insane tension. "Do not touch the sword. Do not turn the key. Do not open the gate." But I'm so glad Saeris did. Watching her go from a brutal desert to surviving in a fae realm was a wild and satisfying ride. And Kingfisher? He’s basically Death, has a massive attitude problem, and I am completely obsessed with him. Their dynamic, the hidden agendas, and the forced proximity had me staying up way too late to finish. This romantasy with actual plot, sharp banter, and amazing chemistry, and you need to read this immediately. An easy 5 stars.

I rated this story five stars. Why? This book totally peaked my interest. A world of great imagination and a great wonderful story that held my attention. I totally love Kingfisher and Saeris both their personal strengths and attractions to each other. I'm ready to read book 2 even though I will have to wait so long to read book 3 to be released. Thank you Callie Hart! I hope I will be reading many more books from you in the future.

I’ve been hearing hype for this book from everyone & it did not disappoint. I loved every second of Saeris & Kingfisher’s love story. It’s dark fae, with vampire vibes & it’s packed with high-stakes action & characters who both move & improve the story. Plus, it has some elite banter. These two are true enemies with the barbs, insults & snap backs to prove it. I totally ate it up. The narration is so good. Anthony Palmini & Stella Bloom created the most believable characters bringing the humor & snark, the disinterest & heat. Every moment was beautifully narrated & captured the intense yearning & irritation of Fisher & Saeris. Fisher & Saeris are one of my favorite couples ever. Fisher is perfectly tortured, & morally grey & Saeris is strong, loyal & unbelievably stubborn. And the connection they have, whether they’re busy despising, fighting or loving each other is top tier. I can think of only a few couples that shares this level of intensity. If you like fast-paced, banter-filled, intense connection & characters that genuinely made me laugh, this is the romantasy for you. It’s 5+ stars. 2 peppers. No notes. I’m immediately picking up book 2.

Quicksilver was such a gripping read! I genuinely could not put it down. The writing style flows so smoothly and the world-building feels effortless. Saeris completely stole my heart. She’s sharp, stubborn, witty, and downright unstoppable. And Kingfisher? WHEW. The male is a grumpy, territorial menace in the best way possible. Possessive, loyal, self-sacrificing… basically a walking checklist of every trait I love in an MMC. The side characters added so much charm (Carrion made me laugh out loud more than once), though I didn’t totally understand the extreme obsession everyone seems to have with him… even if he did deliver a jaw-dropping surprise. My only real gripe: the middle dragged a bit, and then the last 50 pages dumped twist after twist after twist, only to stop just short of a full cliffhanger. It felt like the pacing could’ve been balanced better. Still, the heart, the humor, the characters, and the chemistry completely carried this story. A very solid, fun 4-star read that left me desperate for the next one.

I’ve read Quicksilver twice now, and somehow I loved it even more the second time around. From the very beginning, Saeris gave me major Aladdin street-rat vibes—a thief doing whatever she can to survive—but she’s also an absolute force of nature. Watching her outsmart guards, fight her way through impossible situations, and constantly throw herself into danger for the people she loves made her one of my favorite fantasy heroines. The world pulled me in immediately. The mysterious queen, the secrets surrounding her rule, and the moment Saeris melts a sword from a guard while one is literally hanging from her stomach? Then a tall, dangerous man emerges from the silvery puddle? I was completely hooked. Once the story moves into the Fae realm, it only gets better. Everlayne quickly became a favorite—sweet, fierce, and impossible not to love. And then there’s Carrion Swift. Every time he appeared on the page, I knew I was about to laugh. His banter is unmatched, and his attempts to flirt with literally everyone never got old. But let’s talk about Kingfisher. Broody. Devoted. Dangerous. The tension between him and Saeris is absolutely incredible. Whether they’re trading insults, challenging each other, or sharing quieter moments, their chemistry is off the charts. The forge scene? Enough said. And Onyx the fox? Protected at all costs. What I loved most was that beneath all the romance, this story delivers an incredible fantasy plot. The lore surrounding the Oshellith, the reveal behind “Little Osha,” the maze, the original Fae, the shocking betrayals, the horrifying spider demon, and the revelation about Carrion had me repeatedly staring at the page in disbelief. Then came the ending. The twists hit one after another, and every time I thought I knew where the story was going, Callie Hart pulled the rug out from under me. By the final chapters, I was completely wrecked—in the best possible way. Saeris is strong without losing her heart. She’s sarcastic, determined, emotional, and fiercely loyal. Kingfisher is everything I want in a romantasy hero. The supporting cast is unforgettable. The world-building is addictive. This book had me laughing, swooning, gasping, and immediately reaching for the sequel. Favorite Kingfisher Quotes “Because she is moonlight. The mist that shrouds the mountains. It’ll still be the highest honor of my life.” If you’re looking for a romantasy packed with magic, danger, tension, found family, unforgettable characters, and a broody fae MMC who would burn down worlds for his woman, Quicksilver absolutely delivers.

Okay, I finally understand why everyone has been talking about Quicksilver by Callie Hart. This book showed up with a lot of hype and naturally, my curiosity said “Well… we have to see what the drama is about.” While it wasn’t a perfect read for me, it was definitely an entertaining ride that kept me turning pages way faster than I expected. Saeris immediately caught my attention. She’s stubborn, clever, sarcastic and has that “I’ll figure it out myself” attitude that makes you want to cheer for her. I loved seeing her go from surviving in a harsh world to discovering there is so much more to her than she ever imagined. She’s not the type of heroine who sits around waiting to be saved and I appreciated her determination and the way she fights for the people she cares about. Then we have Kingfisher… or Fisher, because apparently every romantasy needs a mysterious, grumpy, complicated man who makes you question if you should trust him or just stare at him from a safe distance. At first, I wasn’t completely sure how I felt about him because his personality can be a little frustrating. One minute he’s cold and impossible and the next he’s showing a softer side that makes you wonder what secrets he’s hiding. But I have to admit, the banter between him and Saeris was one of my favorite parts of the book. The world of Quicksilver was interesting, especially the concept of alchemy and the mysterious Quicksilver itself. I liked that there was more happening beyond just the romance, with magic, fae, vampires and bigger conflicts waiting in the background. I could tell Callie Hart was setting up a much larger story and I’m curious to see where everything goes next. Now, this book wasn’t flawless for me. The pacing felt a little uneven in places and I found myself wanting more world building and more time to understand certain characters. Some things felt rushed, especially when it came to relationships and how quickly certain bonds formed. I also noticed some editing issues that pulled me out of the story occasionally. Nothing that completely ruined my reading experience, but definitely something I wish had been polished more. That being said… did I have fun reading it? Absolutely. Sometimes a book doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel to be enjoyable. Quicksilver gave me the dramatic fantasy romance, the tension, the sarcastic conversations and the “just one more chapter” feeling that makes me forget I have responsibilities. Final Thoughts: Quicksilver was a fun, addictive romantasy that gave me exactly what I expected: fae, danger, magic, enemies to lovers tension and a complicated MMC who will probably have readers arguing about him for hours. While I had a few issues with the pacing and character development, I still found myself invested in Saeris and Fisher’s journey. Would I continue the series? Yes, I’m curious enough to see what happens next and hopefully get more answers about this fascinating world.

Me encantó la forma en que la escritora describió lugares y acciones de los personajes tan fácilmente y puedo decir hermosamente que me enganchó desde el primer capítulo, incluso cuando menos me lo esperaba me surgían preguntas que para mi buen gusto fueron contestadas rápidamente. Obviamente hay partes en los que uno se esperaba que ciertas circunstancias pasaran pero creo que es por que ya tengo experiencia leyendo varios libros de fantasía y me atrevo a decir que en ciertos momentos se me venía a mi cabeza otros títulos de famosas escritoras pero bueno como dije antes para mi bloqueo de lectora no estuvo tan mal. Uff!! no puedo esperar leer el siguiente libro, incluso grité un poco cuando me di cuenta que había llegado al final del libro.

the writing created such sharp and vivid imagery. The characters, the plot, the relationship, the crescendo of the story. JUST. WOW. I accidentally stumbled across a recommendation for this book and I'm glad I took heed. Beautifully written.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Incredible! Beautiful! Amazing! This has been the best book I have read for a very very long time, not since the Throne of Glass series in 2016 (Empire of Storms). I loved the magic mechanics, I loved the world building, I adore the female main character Saeris Fane and enjoy the male main character Kingfisher, I loved all the additional characters too. The emotional connection is amazing, the storytelling is addictive. I want more of this series, I can't wait to see what's next! My only small negative comment are the similarities between this book and A Court of Thorns and Roses series, it seems too similar to be a coincidence, but I loved this book, it's characters, it's magic more then ACOTAR.

Mnóstwo emocji, pyszniutkie klasyczne enemies to lovers, mamy slow burn i unikalny magiczny świat, mamy nieirytującą i sprytną główną bohaterkę (Saeris), wybitnego shadow daddy głównego bohatera (Kingfisher), ciekawie zapowiadające się found family/pobocznych bohaterów, których pokochasz (Carrion!!) i fajny banter, dla mnie jedna z top 3 książek 2024, bawiłam się na niej wyśmienicie + pękało mi serce, ale czyż nie o to właśnie tu chodzi? Pierwsza połowa Quicksilvera jest wolniejsza, skupia się na world buildingu, ale później, gdy już się rozkręca - nie da się tej książki odłożyć, jest tam TYLE EMOCJIIII! Kingfisher wjechał (i to na pełnym splendorze) na sam szczyt mojej listy ukochanych MMC; dla tych, co kochają Rhysanda/Xadena - Fisher jest bardziej dark & stormy, to taki tormented & less vanilla Rhys with filthy mouth. 🌶️🌶️🌶️👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 pokochałam tych bohaterów, nie mogę doczekać się drugiej części tej serii (jest zapowiadana na jesień 2025); po skończeniu Quicksilvera NATYCHMIAST miałam ochotę na reread. Warto wiedzieć, że mamy aktualnie 3 bonusowe rozdziały Quicksilvera na stronie autorki - do tego są to rozdziały z (yay!!) POV Kingfishera (tylko uwaga - do przeczytania PO lekturze książki, bo sobie zaspojlujecie niektóre rzeczy). Jedyna uwaga - ta książka byłaby jeszcze lepsza, gdyby cała była napisana z dual POV, bo czytanie wyłącznie perspektywy Saeris (FMC) nie dało mi takiej frajdy (ani nie pozwalało zrozumieć co się tak naprawdę dzieje i dlaczego), jaką dałoby analizowanie biegu wydarzeń mając również wgląd w perspektywę Kingfishera (MMC). Ach, co za przepyszna książka, wspaniałe doświadczenie, bawiłam się świetnie.
