I use it in a unique way — instead of gum, I fill it with 1” capsules that each hold the title of a book from my TBR pile (to-be-read books, for non-readers). It works perfectly right out of the box and adds so much fun to choosing my next read. I use quarters to operate it, which doubles as my “book money” — no new book purchases until I’ve saved enough from using the machine. It’s turned my TBR into a reward system, and I’m obsessed. I call her “Reading Roulette”.The capsules fit just right, and the machine works smoothly on the first try every time. It comes with two keys, is easy to disassemble and reassemble, and looks far more elegant and classy in person than any video or photo can capture. It’s become both a functional piece and a conversation starter in my reading space.My only minor complaint is that it’s lightweight — I do wish it had a little more weight to it, just so it wouldn’t shift slightly when turning the knob. But that’s a small issue in an otherwise flawless experience.If you’re looking for something fun, stylish, and practical (especially with a bookish twist), this gumball machine is a total win! Doesn’t work with smaller 32mm capsules. Allows 3x32mm to dispensed at a time. But I added cardboard to only allow one capsule at a time.Can remove parts of the mechanism so it doesn’t require quarters to work. Just remove the parts in the photos.

Not cheap, but highly useful for positive re-enforcement for kids!My 3 year old nephew now asks “what can I do for a quarter?”It’s a great way to assign tasks, and teach “cleaning up” and personal responsibility.You can find the “balls” I purchased to fill it with in my other reviews- it took me a couple different purchases to find the right size for this machine.

I keep my meds portioned out in here in colored balls instead of doing a monthly thing. Much more fun, and I just put a quarter in every morning when I’m ready to take my pills.I wish that it came with the quarter holder instead of just dropping them in the bottom but it really isn’t THAT much of a bother since it’s just for personal use.

I love this machine. It's great fun. The only issue I have is the top locking mechanism where the Capsulesare put in. It opens and closes easily but the key sticks and is hard to remove.

Very happy with this product. Very sturdy.

Had to end up taking out the coin mechanism so my granddaughter could use it…it would not turn with a quarter in it…so heads up Amazon Help told me it actually takes a 1 dollar coin…so basically a waste of our money as we don’t have dollar coins lying around!!! It works and will turn and dispense a prize but only after we took out the part on the inside that recognizes the coin 😡
