Hasbro re-tooled booster variant of Horn Rhino
The media could not be loaded. The Hasbro Savage Bear 3-60S (Spike) Booster is a defense type Beyblade (Japanese spinning tops) engineered by Takara Tomy (TT; a Japanese toy manufacturer) as collaboration to market the newest generation of Beyblade in the US. Being a lone booster, this does not come with a Beyblade X launcher or stadium (both of which are required before use). The Blade is called “Savage Bear” which is a re-tooling of “Horn Rhino” (aka ‘Rhino Horn’ in Japan). “3-60” is a very good 3-sided ratchet for attack due to the low height. The bit (the part of the Beyblade that makes contact with the stadium floor) is called “S” which stands for “Spike” and it is supposed to keep the bey in one place to counterstrike opponents. In reality, Spike makes the bey easy to knock around or lose in a “Burst Finish” due to having low burst resistance. These are very bad qualities for a defense type Beyblade to have. Being an echo of a light bey like Horn Rhino, you would think that Bear would retain the same properties, however, it has been confirmed to be even lighter, possibly due to being re-tooled from the Rhino mould. To conclude, while it at least seems to be made of the same materials, the Savage Bear3-60S Beyblade booster is not worth the money. With the weakened attack blade, lightened weight, and easy to burst bit that it comes with, the only redeeming part in this package is the 3-60 ratchet that is currently (at the time of this review) the only competitive part in this booster for attack Beyblades (which this is not). This echo therefore has too little redeeming qualities to offer Beyblade fans and it should be avoided.
