I was impressed with the size, sharpness, and versatility of this product. They are easy to clean, but the weight of the scissors, although durable are kind of hard to keep in your hands. Overall value is great. I love the container they come in for easy storage.

The tiny rake is adorable. But seriously, the scissors feel very substantial and very sharp. The clipper-type scissors same -- substantial and sharp. Note you do only receive one of the clipper-type scissors (along with one of the regular scissors and rake). Oh, the case is also really nice. Easy to open and reclosable, where else would you keep your tiny tools--ok, a tiny tool shed would be adorable, but this case is perfect to keep the tools from getting other things dirty if they pick up any dirt or tree juice(?) and to help you not lose the individual tools all of which are wee, perfect size for my little bonsai.

I bought my first Small Bonsai Tree and wanted to give it shape so this small kit end up being perfect for it. Now for slightly thicker parts I would say a bigger set of shears will be easier yet this ones still cut with a bit of more force I’m very happy with them and the price was great.

I purchased this beginner bonsai tool set thinking that they’d get me through early lessons and then I could upgrade as my skills develop. None of the tools made it through the first bonsai session. The scissors folded up like weak aluminum. The rake tips broke immediately when lightly combing out the fine surface roots. I have no idea what these would be good for, but as with many things, you get what you pay for. Do yourself the favor of investing in a good pair of scissors. The rest you can add to later. Use a fork or chopstick for teasing out roots. Use a regular pruner for clipping larger branches until you can buy a concave cutter. But don’t buy this set. You’ll be frustrated and give up on yourself when you could be feeling good about your journey.

I got this set to care for my first Bonsai. It’s still quite small so I was surprised that the first trimming left the cutters too dull to work again without damaging the plant. They ripped the leaves and twigs off rather than cutting them.

Great for bonsai beginners! Really served its purpose and could see myself using these items long-term.

Dinky little kit that does the job well. The scissors are amazingly pointed and sharp. I'm not sure whether the rake is worthwhile, but overall recommended.
