For readers, DPD will go bad (turn blue/black) fairly quickly. To extend life, put the container in a jar or baggy (squeeze air out) with color changing silica gel dessicant beads, as the moisture is what causes the DPD to degrade. I put mine in a small mason jar with beads in the bottom, and vacuum seal (Foodsaver, etc.) it as well. Only takes a moment once a week when checking the chlorine level and substantially lengthens the life so you can use the whole container.
