Exceeds My Expectations
I bought an Instant Pot Ultra a couple of weeks before Christmas and fell in love with its sous vide feature. I could definitely tell the difference this method made in the tenderness of my meat, but I was always fussing trying to make sure I got the air out of the ziplocked bags. I wanted a pump, but they required special bags.Though reusable these bags are expensive, and I didn't like the idea of reusing plastic bags and having to wash them. So I couldn't believe my luck when I found this kit. It had the same pump valves that were on the reusable bags, but they were designed to be removed and used with any ziploc or sealed plastic bag.The kit arrived on New Years Eve and I didn't waste any time getting started. I prepared New York Skirt Steak that night (see my review on the Instant Pot Ultra for a description of the procedure and more details about how the steak turned out). My biggest fear was that the valves would be hard to insert and would tear the bag and water spill into it while cooking, ruining the meat. Also, I was worried that the pump was too rinky dink to work well. If you are concerned about either of these things, let me tell you, you don't have to be. Inserting the valve is easy and pretty fail safe since it uses suction and grips....When I applied the pump to the valve, at first I didn't feel any resistance and thought it wasn't working properly. Then I noticed the slight billowing of the plastic and its shrinking around the steak and felt the increasing resistance of the pump until it would no long move and the bag was vacuum packed. After dinner, the valves were easily removed and easy to clean and work fine with the regular ziploc-freezer-double-zipper bags I buy at the supermarket. But I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

A perfect solution when you don't have a vacuum sealer
For those of you that don't want to use a vacuum sealer, or simply don't have the room in the kitchen for one, this item is the solution. Just save the bag and clean it, you can use it a couple more times and it holds vacuum. I wish I can buy more valves only as a Sunday sous vide meal prep I need more than 3 bags, this kit gives you 3 valves but I think 6-8 valves is the perfect amount if you are doing once a week meal prep.

It is an entry-level Sous Vide kit, but works as advertised.
It is an entry-level Sous Vide kit, but works as advertised. I use the valves for unusually sized items and standard zip locks after the included bags run out. Seal-a-meal makes more effective bags with invisible valves built in, and air channels on the bags to channel out air much better than clear bags. The pump is very basic, but works and is easily disassembled for cleaning. I have an installer ultra mini and Sous Vide everything using this kit!

Strong Add on to your Sous Vide!
This is a great addition to your Sous Vide device, expanding its capabilities and allowing you to take full advantage of its capabilities and replacing some of the included parts!

Worked well and quickly to prepare for sous vide cooking
I used this kit to cook chicken breasts in a sous vide bath. The included bags held up well at 149o. The vacuum was easy to create and held well. No water leakage during cooking. I have not tried using with commercial ziploc bags but anticipate that the result will be the same. So far, so good!

Great product, very small foot print.
I like that it's reusable and hardly takes up much room in my drawer. I worked very well I'm glad I got this one instead of the larger sealing machines. I do wonder if they have larger bags as I would like to try a prime rib sometime.

Make your Sous vide work even better!
These bags are easy to vacuum seal with the pump thatโs included. The clips and sealer are made of high quality, substantial materials that will last through many uses.
