Works out of the box - flashes easily, has dedicated GPS and LoRa ports - QC nits
This dev board works right out of the box for Meshtastic. The antenna attaches easily but will not get you incredible range if not used outdoors or near a windowpane/2nd floor setup. What's nice about this one is that the GPS antenna is also accessible so it's really useful for a DIY mesh node you can add into a project box and a battery.I knocked off one star due to QC - it seems the screen was installed tilted.Note - make sure you flash this as a "Heltec Wireless Tracker" and not a Heltec V3

Antenna fell apart the moment I opened the package, issues with flashing
I've purchased several LoRa based devices recently. I wanted to grab one with a GPS, and this one seemed fair enough and supported. The antenna literally fell apart when I took it out of the bag. The module itself struggled to flash to Meshtastic, and when it did, it reboots continuously. It further had issues keeping its name assigned, almost seemed like the flash just wouldn't take. The panel is LCD, unlike some newer devices. When I used a battery on it, it would reboot 3 times and then finally stablize. The GPS did work, though.

Works perfectly for Meshtastic
This is an excellent board for people looking to get into experimenting with Meshtastic. Build quality is very good, and the price makes this possibly one of the best value boards out there for running Meshtastic. GPS and LoRA antennas are included, and there are u.FL connectors, which should also give you the flexibility to connect an external antenna. There also appears to be an onboard charger for a lipo battery and a connector, and the kit includes some wires that you can solder onto a battery holder. Very nice touch.I'm still testing, but performance with Meshtastic seems to be quite good so far. This unit is supported by Meshtastic as the Heltec Wireless Tracker 1.1, and can be flashed from the web flasher. All of the onboard hardware just works, including the screen, buttons and GPS. Note that you'll need to press the USER button down when plugging in a cable to get it into flashing mode, and I also had to use the "Full Erase and Install" option in the Meshtastic flasher. Beware also, you should not check the option "Bundle Web UI" as this can cause the device to become unstable (it doesn't have enough memory to support this). After it finishes it might appear to freeze with a "waiting for download" message, but you can just disconnect and reconnect it and it should boot into Meshtastic. I'm still testing performance, but the kit seems to be well made so I expect it will be good. It at least talks quite happily to my other Meshtastic devices.Overall I'm just getting started playing with this, but it seems to be an excellent value all-in-one board for people wanting to use Meshtastic. Build quality is pretty good, and it includes just about everything you need except perhaps an audio buzzer, which you could add yourself. And it just works out of the box with the right Meshtastic image. Its compact size and complete feature set make it a pretty compelling new addition to the ecosystem.
