Small, very small... EXTREMELY SMALL!
Great if you’re looking to scoop half a goldfish out of the tank. This net is approximately 1” squared. Much too small for most fish, might work on guppies, possibly fry. It won’t work on anything I have, it’s much too small.PLEASE NOTE: If you appreciated this review please give it a “thumbs up/like if it was helpful” I truly appreciate you helping me to continue to give honest/unbiased insight into products I’ve used and you may have questions about. Rusted after two uses, rusted area only exposed to fresh water!
How can you make an aquarium product that goes in the water and rusts? It ruins the telescoping nature of the net and eventually it will break off. Net didn't catch most of the baby brine poured through it either (note that none of this salt water touched anything but the net, the rusting is from catching baby fish in fresh water!!!).

Terrifically convenient, great size
3/11/2020 UpdateI'm updating my review because I just bought a second one of these. Turns out, I LOVE them.Yes, they're light, and they do feel a little flimsy... Don't worry. They're not. These nets are very small, but deep. When netting small fish, I don't worry about them flipping themselves out of the net during transfer to a holding tank during cleaning. The small size of these nets make it much easier to get around and between plants without destroying my scaping when capturing my fish. These are small. I prefer the square version because my fish tanks have corners, and I like to be able to block the fish from escape, rather than have them easily dart around the edge. The telescoping handle is fantastic! I can use these in all my nano tanks, regardless of size/depth.I suggest that for longevity, after use and cleaning, fully extend the handle so it fully dries. I suspect that it will just if you don't.I will probably end up with one of these for each tank before I'm done.(Original review below.)It works as a net for my Bettas. I doubt it'll last long, but it's the right size, and has a telescoping handle, which is convenient when the fish play hard to get.

High quality, minor defects.
I would have rated 4 stars, but it's my fault for not looking at the dimensions. It's an extremely tiny net. At least it has a decent depth to hold fish vertically. Kinda annoying to stretch the rods out as the last one attached to the net seems to be always stuck or hard to pull or tuck back in. Otherwise, very high quality net.Edit: water gets stuck inside of it, or where the handles extend from one another. It rusts slowly because of that and then if you place this with the net facing down, the rust can drip to the net and stain it permanently. I have to shake it every time and extend the handles out and then reverse until all the water leaks out. Kinda annoying, so a drop from 5 to 4 stars is the result of my complaint.

The wiring on the net is super flimsy!
I purchased this net because I raise Halocaridina Rubra shrimps, and I needed a small net to transfer my shrimps to do my 6-month tank cleaning. While I love the extension feature, for bigger tanks, the wiring on the mouth of the netting area is super flimsy. It almost feels like a big paper clip wire, so it's bendable. I am not sure if it's intended to be for that purpose, but if they come in different shapes, I would think probably not. The handle part is alright. Extension material feels like a radio antenna, just so you get an idea of what it looks like.Least but not last, here's a tip for new buyers... you probably need to rinse your net a few times through running water because the fabric is quite stiff when it's brand new. While it comes neatly folded, it was a bit of a challenge to transfer my shrimps to a small container.Because of the flimsy wiring on the netting being my biggest concern, I've decided to rate this product 3 stars.

Great for dwarf shrimp and small fish
I don't know why, but my stupid fish and shrimp *like* to go into this net. Sometimes when I'm trying to scoop up a single one, others jump in and I have to try to get them out without losing the one I intended to get. A few times I've gotten lucky and just set the net next to a shrimp I'm trying to catch and they crawl right in.The telescoping handle works really well and extends out further than you'd think based on the collapsed size. The wire for the net part is kind of soft though. I've had to bend it back into shape a few times. I'm sure that'll break eventually, but it's held up okay so far.I have a somewhat busy tank with several plants and pieces of driftwood and sometimes it's impossible to get at a single shrimp. For that reason I wish there was a version of this with a much smaller net (but the same handle), but otherwise it's worked really well for me.

Works perfectly for what I needed it for
I bought this to scoop shrimp out of my breeding tanks to make sure red and oranges didn't mix bloodlines, etc. I HATED trying to catch shrimp before, so I was skeptical this would help at all. I tried it out in a water change bucket to fish out the shrimp that had gotten caught in the filter and it worked much better than my usual fish nets. So today I tried using it in my black rose tank to fish out a red that had somehow gotten in there so I could move it to the red tank. All I had to do was put the net in behind the shrimp while it was eating, then move my hand towards the shrimp. The shrimp jumped backwards right into the net, and now she's swimming happily with her fellow red cherries in my big red tank.Awesome. Love it. This will make keeping my breeding tanks organized so much easier.

Smart aquarium tool
This telescoping net is exactly what I was looking for. I was having trouble scooping fish from the aquarium using a chunky short square net because the fish would wiggle into tiny spaces I couldn't reach. This round net saves me a lot of time when trying to catch a fish because it can get into tiny spaces and the handle's extendable so you don't need to stick your whole arm in the tank! It's also lightweight and compact! Smart aquarium tool. Would recommend.
