The set comes with all the essential tools for a beginner, including a bone folder, ribbon, needles for sewing, and several other items that make getting started much easier. I was able to assemble my own notebook with copy paper and card stock, and I even used the press to restore the cover of a book from 1907. As someone who is entirely self-taught from online tutorials, I can say this kit gives you a real head start compared to most beginners. My advice for new bookbinders is to practice on inexpensive materials first and even try restoring a vintage book from a bookseller—but avoid spending too much on your first project, and don’t attempt anything you truly care about until your skills improve. This product is amazing for what I needed it for. I use it for painting the sides of my books, and it holds firm, it isn’t hard to assemble at all, and is big enough to hold most books. I’ll be using this for a long time. Highly recommend.

Excellent kit, the only thing was getting the wood boards a tiny chipped on one side each one. I needed this right away. So, I decided to keep it. It looks like perhaps the carrier dropped the package? Other than that it has everything what is needed to start using it.
