Good
I am happy with it so far and have had it for a little over two weeks. I use it to test cosmetic products like solid shampoo bars to check the pH. It's easy to use and clean, and when cleaned properly, it remains at 0000, as it should when not in a solution. (I have had to return other brands because, after use, no matter what, they would never return to 0000 and would chaotically read pH values, even when not inserted into anything.) It was easy to calibrate with the solutions it came with (just make sure the temperature is correct when calibrating because temperature is important), and so far, it consistently gives accurate values. The instruction sheet it came with was excellent, simple and easy to follow. This came with the storage solution you need; the protective cap that screws on can't dry out, otherwise, this will damage the electrode spear. You'll see the protective sponge at the bottom where the head of the spear rests, and it must be a little moist with that storage solution to maintain and protect the electrode. I am very happy with this one so far, and it works well, unlike some other ones I have bought here on Amazon. For its price its good and I recommend it if Apera is out of your price range.

A reasonably priced and accurate pH meter
The box, pH meter, and instruction manual arrived with no brand name, and although they claim they have customer service, they don’t list any website, email address, phone number, or company address, just a vague line saying to contact through the Amazon store. Because temp items promised to be in the box were missing, I went to the Amazon store page and was unable to find any way to contact the seller or manufacturer. The pH meter worked reasonably well. They supplied calibration water with pH of 7.0, and the instrument displayed 6.97 when tested, and I was able to calibrate to 7.0. The three buttons are virtually illegible to my old eyes, I had to consult the manual to figure out which was which, because instead of using contrasting dark paint on the off white buttons they chose to use a very pale light green for the icons, which under a lamp I still could not read without zooming in with my phone camera. Fortunately there are only 3 buttons to remember, an on/off button, a hold button, and a calibrate button. A long push of 5 seconds switches the temperature readout from Celsius to Fahrenheit. The unit arrives with four button batteries installed. I don’t know how long they will last. I would greatly have preferred that they had used more readily available AAA batteries instead. The storage cap has a bit of sponge in the tip to absorb KCl solution to keep the tip moist. Three small bottles are included. One is a solution to calibrate at pH 4.0. The next is a bottle of fluid, presumably polite water, for calibration at pH 7.0. The third dropper bottle is KCl solution for application to the cap tip sponge for keeping the probe tip moist. They claim that replacement probe tips are available, but when I checked, the page said unavailable. This might be a short term problem. I don’t know how often the probe really lasts, but the instructions say it is a consumable that should be replaced every 6 months. I hope the someday make them available again. There are other pH meters that cost much more, so I think this one was reasonably priced and should be a good value depending on what the expense will be to replace the probe and button batteries. I will be using this to do some canning experiments with my son for school, so we will need to insure the products we are making have a pH below 4.6, so we are counting on this for accurate readings for our data collection and food safety. I wish they included contact information for service and supplies, I wish they had made the buttons legible, I wish they had not used button batteries. I don’t know how durable it is until I can determine how long the probe and batteries last. The display brightness is adequate. The instructions are somewhat useable but could be improved.

Makes me more confident as a water bath canning newbie
I'm a chemist, so I've used ph maters in school and at work. This is great, easy to use tool. The instructions are easy to follow, and so far I have had 0 issues with the probe. It seems to hold calibration well, and I like knowing for sure that the foods I am canning have a pH of less than 4.6, so I don't have to worry about botulism.

Good while it lasts
The meter worked fine when new, two years later replacing batteries did not help it simply died.
