My first "enthusiast" keyboard. Ended up buying two.
Coming from a Das Keyboard 4 pro and then a stint with the Logitech G915, the Keychron Q6 Max is the first time I played with swapping switches and keycaps. That said, I ended up putting back the Banana switches and keycaps it came with. Great sound, but not LOUD, and the tactile bump of the Bananas then bottoming out on the case make for a satisfying typing experience. The keycaps are quite nice, and the front-legends with blank tops look phenomenal. Out of the box before getting used to it, it tacked around 10 wpm onto my typing speed. No complaints about the battery life.

Good solid keyboard
Nice heavy keyboard and the sound quality is amazing, however I will say that the space bar is extremely sensitive, I’ve had a few different mechanical keyboards and none of them caused problems with the spacebar like this one does. It is a little frustrating but it just means I have to be more careful when I’m typing. Also there are no lights on the keyboard to let you know when numb lock or caps is on. This doesn’t bother me a ton but I could understand how that might bother other people. The caps and numb lock key do light up a little bit, but if you use the keyboard in an environment that has bright fluorescent lighting it’s pretty much unnoticeable.

My pinky doesn't hit the caps lock anymore! Grad student LOVES this keyboard!!!
I'm a graduate student who spends hours upon hours typing assignments. I was using a Logitech MX Mechanical Brown Switch keyboard and HATED IT. My left pinky finger kept accidently hitting the caps lock--it was driving me crazy. Even if I turned the key off with the awful Logitech software, when I'd reboot the key would be active again. The Q6 had caught my attention and even put one in my online cart weeks earlier. I was having difficultly justifying spending so much for a keyboard. I mean, they're usually free with the computer, right! I'm not a gamer either, which made it that much more difficult to justify. However, my patience was running thin as a deadline for an assignment was uncomfortably close, and my pinky finger hit the caps lock one too many times and I reacted. In a moment of frustration, I went ahead and finalized the purchase of my Q6 and wasn't the least bit freaked out by it. Until the next day after I'd gotten several hours of sleep. In the time it took to arrive, I debated sending it back. Once it arrived and before I even opened it, I could feel the weight of it--out of the box, it's an almost 5 POUND KEYBOARD. The weight of it blew my mind! I knew I was going to love it! From that moment on, I haven't regretted the purchase once! I've been using it for well over a month and have typed many papers on it. Not once has my left pinky finger hit the caps lock--not once! The keyboard is super easy to configure. The choices for backlights is out of the world! Every pattern and color I imagine possible. I also talked myself into buying new key caps for it. It looks great! I got the key caps off Amazon too! Here's all the justification I needed: If I'm typing several hours at a time, I deserve a keyboard that is comfortable to use and doesn't make my task more difficult than it already is. Not to mention, school keeps me in a constant state of anxiety and frustration. I don't need a keyboard that makes it worse!! Now I only use a Logitech MX vertical mouse and like it but am running it without their crappy software.Normally, I'd get Chat to write this review for me, but I don't think it would do it justice. So, I wrote this without Chat's help. I'm not the type of student that looks for extra stuff to do. When I'm not working or doing school work, I want to chill and not think as long as possible. So, it should tell you something positive that I was willing to invest my free time in telling strangers who'll listen about my new Q6 Max!

Heft
Built like a tank, hotswappable, and programmable. This keyboard can be used as is, or customized to whatever extent you wish. OEM parts can be purchased through Keychron and the keyboard can be easily disassembled and repaired with the included tools. This is something you should to buy if you're in the market for a keyboard to use for years to come.In my opinion the banana switches are the way to go if you want the best typing experience with the stock options available. Those combined with the OSA keycaps make for an excellent and responsive typing experience. If I had to knock the keyboard for one thing it would be that the switch on the back to swap connection modes can be a bit finicky sometimes, but it's very minor.

Tons of Missed/Duplicate Key Presses NonStop
When this arrived I was beyond impressed. Super heavy. Incredible build quality (seemingly). I used it without issue for about a month or two (conveniently just long enough for the Amazon return window to close). Then problems started and continue to this day... As others have noted, I'm getting constant duplicate or completely missed keys. Support was frustrating at best. But at worst, they took many days to respond and would often just provide the same unhelpful response. At one point they promised to provide replacement keys but that never happened.A firmware update made the keyboard usable and I thought had fixed the problem. Only for it to return a week or so later. I've wasted so much time troubleshooting this thing that I'm just beyond frustrated and have completely given up on it.

Best THOCK You'll Hear
I thought I knew what a mechanical keyboard should sound like until I purchased this. Wow. I was blown away by how creamy and thocky this thing sounded right out the box. It works phenomenally with my workflow given its full size, and the programming is super easy with the web launcher. I've already set up macro keys for what I like. The RGB lighting is so much stronger than my other mechanical keyboard at home, and the knob is a beautiful touch. The battery could be better, but given that I'm using it wirelessly with full RGB on, it's not bad. Highly recommend.
